2.1. Use of the water heaters
The Spheros Thermo 230/300/350 water heaters, hereafter referred to
as heaters, are used in conjunction with the vehicle's own heating sys-
tem.
– to heat the passenger cabin,
– to defrost the vehicle windows and
– to preheat water-cooled engines.
The water heaters operate independently of the engine and are connec-
ted to the cooling system, the fuel system and the electrical system of
the vehicle.
Warning!
The heater is approved for heating the passenger cabin or the
driver's cab, but not for vehicles used to transport hazardous
goods according to Annex 9 of the UN/ECE Regulation R122.
NOTE:
The heaters are only licensed for horizontal installation (see Fig. 2).
Warning!
Because poisoning and suffocation hazard, the heater must not be
operated, not even with timer, in enclosed areas such as garages
or workshops without a suck off facility. This also applies to the

At petrol stations and fuel depots the heater must be switched off
because of explosion hazard.
Caution!
The heater must not be operated if in the area of its exhaust outlet
are inflammable materials (e.g. dry grass and leaves, cartons, pa-
per etc.) and/or in locations where inflammable vapors or dust may
form for instance close to
– any type of fuel depots
– coal and wood storages
– storages of plastics and the like.
