Viscount Chorale 1
Owner's Manual

4.3 MEMORIES

The Chorale 1 has 12 adjustable General (i.e. They memorize the state of the entire voice set of the
instrument) combinations, to save your register configurations, divided into two banks (Bank A and
Bank B) of 6 memory each.
To SAVE A MEMORY push [SET] together with a memory button (buttons [1] to [6]). If necessary,
first push the [BANK] button to switch between Bank A and Bank B.
To RECALL A MEMORY push the relative button (buttons [1] to [6]). Push the [BANK] button to
switch between memories 1-6 of Bank A and 1-6 of Bank B and viceversa.
To recall a memory placed in the other bank always remember to press [BANK] and then the desired
memory button.
When a memory is active it is possible to turn off all the registers at the same time (this function is
normally called Cancel), by pressing the active memory button for a few seconds. In this state the
organ will still send MIDI messages, allowing the use of the Chorale 1 as a "mute keyboard" (or
Master Keyboard), that is capable of driving another keyboard, organ, sequencer, without generating
sounds. For example it can be useful to connect it to another Viscount organ or expander (as CM100)
to let its voices sound.
To let the Chorale 1 sound again just activate registers or memories.

4.4 SEQUENCER

The Chorale 1 has an on-board sequencer for recording performances (i.e. MIDI tracks with notes and
parameters changes during the execution). There are two recordable tracks. To choose one press
[TRACK] button.
In order to RECORD A TRACK you must choose the track to record (indicated by [TRACK] button's
LED), then press [REC] and then [START/STOP] button to start recording. At the end of the
performance, the recording must be stopped using [START/STOP].
Remember that at the start of a recording (pressing of [START/STOP] button) the actual registers
configuration will be saved in the chosen track. We recommend that you check that the active registers
are really the desired ones. If they're not, then, after pressing [REC] activate the the desired voices and
start recording pressing [START/STOP].
Note: it's also possible to start recording by starting to play the keyboard.
To cancel the recording procedure before starting just press [REC] another time.
To PLAYBACK A TRACK just choose one track with [TRACK] button and press [START/STOP].
At the start of the playback the organ will modify the state of the registers by activating the ones used
during the recording. It is possible to turn on or switch off registers and orchestral voices during
playback. These changes are not saved in any mode. At the end of the playback the registers used
during the execution of the track will remain active. To stop playing a track press [START/STOP].
