5. SWITCHING ON

Before using the appliance for the first time, carefully read sections 15.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS and 16. ELECTROMAGNETIC
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS, which detail the essential electrical safety
requirements and electromagnetic safety requirements, and 8. TECHNICAL
DATA, that provides information on location, storage and transport
requirements in order to avoid malfunctioning or damage to the appliance,
operator or others.
① Press "Power" button to switch on the device. The start-up screen will be displayed for
several seconds. This screen shows the software version.
② After some seconds, the capsule selection screen will appear, and the device is ready for
operation. At this point, the device is ready for the user to navigate through the menu and select
the appropriate parameters by turning and pressing the Selector button. To proceed to this step
see the Instructions for Use of VARIXIO® Pod.

7. CORRECT USE

VARIXIO® is a system for the preparation of sclerosing foam for the treatment of varicose veins.
VARIXIO® consists of a customized magnetic stirring device (VARIXIO® Pro Mag) and a sterile
disposable mixing capsule (VARIXIO® Pod) in which the foam is generated.
The system is designed to prepare foam with different combinations of gas types and sclerosing
agents - polidocanol (POL) or sodium tetradecyl sulphate (STS) – in a range of concentrations.
The gas type is determined by the gas content of the VARIXIO® Pod capsule being used.
