4 Setting into Operation

Prior to setting into operation remove the complete
packaging material from the fog machine.

4.1 Filling up fog fluid

WARNING 1. While filling up fog fluid, the unit must
not be connected to the mains.
Always disconnect the mains plug
from the socket!
2. Never add flammable fluids of any
kind to the fog fluid! Explosion hazard!
3. The unit is not splashproof. If fluid
gets inside the unit, it must be
cleaned and checked by skilled per-
sonnel before it is operated.
1) Unscrew the tank cap (1).
2) Fill up the tank with fog fluid (→ chapter 3.1): Fill up
1
the tank up to
as a minimum and do not add more
4
fluid than up to the upper marking of the window (2).
If any fluid is spilt, wipe it off immediately with a
cloth so that it will not get inside the unit.
3) Tightly close the tank.
4.2 Setting up/connecting the unit
G
The heat generated within the unit must be dissi-
pated by air circulation. Make sure that a minimum
space of 20 cm is provided around and above the
unit and that the air vents of the housing are not
covered.
G
Position the unit in such a way that the fog is not
directed at persons.
Place the fog machine on a horizontal surface. For a
reliable operation it must not be inclined more than
15°!
Connect the remote control to the 6.3 mm jack (3)
and the mains cable to the mains jack (5) and a socket
(230 V~/50 Hz).
4.3 Operation
WARNING 1. The unit must be operated by adults
only; never leave it unattended.
2. Always make sure that there is suffi-
cient fog fluid in the tank. When oper-
ating the unit without fog fluid, there
will be a fire hazard due to overheat-
ing. Besides, the unit may be dam-
aged.
1) Switch on the fog machine with the POWER switch
(4) [switch lights up]. The fog machine will heat up
for approx. 3 minutes. While the unit is heating up,
the LEDs POWER (7) and READY (8) flash [as well
as the LED TIMER (9) in case of timer operation]
and no fog output will be possible yet. The ventila-
tor of the unit is permanently in operation, even if
there is no fog output.
2) As soon as the LED READY (8) changes from flash-
ing to permanent lighting, heating-up is finished and
fog output will be possible.
Manual operation:
Turn the control (10) up to the left stop to position
"on/off". Thus, the timer operation is switched off,
the LED TIMER (9) does not light up. As soon as the
button (11) is kept pressed, fog will be emitted.
Timer operation (automatic operation):
In the timer mode, the unit will automatically emit
fog in defined intervals. To activate the timer mode,
turn the control (10) from the position "on/off" to the
right, the LED TIMER (9) lights up. Use the control
to adjust the intervals between the individual fog
outputs (adjusting range: 3 to 170 seconds). The
duration of a fog output is defined to approx. 5 sec-
onds. During the timer operation it is possible to
additionally emit fog at any time with the button (11).
To switch off the timer operation, turn the control
to the left stop until it engages (position "on/off").
The LED TIMER will be extinguished.
Important notes:
a If it is not possible to emit fog, check the fluid
level of the tank by means of the window (2) and
fill up fog fluid, if required. The tank must be filled
1
up for
as a minimum.
4
b Due to the residual fluid in the fog machine, the
unit may still emit some fog after a fog output or
for a while after switching off.
3) To switch off the unit, press the POWER switch (4)
[switch will be extinguished].
4) Before transporting the unit, it must cool down first
and the tank must be completely empty!
5 Cleaning
For cleaning the outside of the unit, only use a dry, soft
cloth; never use chemicals or water which may get
inside the unit.
Due to the viscosity of the fog fluid and the high
vaporizing temperature, fog machines are susceptible
to clogging. After approx. 40 hours of operation, it is
therefore recommended to clean the unit with a fluid
consisting of 90 % distilled water and 10 % vinegar.
1) Disconnect the fog machine from the mains.
2) Completely empty the tank.
3) Fill the tank with the cleaning fluid.
4) Operate the unit with the cleaning fluid in a suffi-
ciently ventilated environment until the tank is
empty.
5) Refill the unit with fog fluid and create fog for
approx. 3 minutes to remove any acid residues from
the unit.
