5. POSSIBILITIES FOR THE INFORMED USER

5.1. PREFERENCES
The Preferences is the menu controlling the operational parameters. The
following section explains their use. The user should fully understand their significance
before using them.
Here is the preferences heading and menu:
The default values for the preferences are: DMX/AVAB for the accepted protocol,
0.52s for the ignition time, ON for the smooting, ON for message display.
The first line of text allows the user to restrict the protocols that will be accepted
by the CAD 900. The default value is "DMX/AVAB", which means CAD 900 will
accept any type of DMX or AVAB protocols.
For example, if we put:
The DMX 512 was connected, it would not be accepted. The "Red Error"
LED lights up and if we go back to the start-up display, we can see:
This option is useful for fixed installations where the ability to lock into one
protocol acts as a protection from interference on the data line.
