The user also has three ways to turn off the lamp (or reset to then try a re-
strike).
a. Send a digital signal less than 5% on the data channel that controls the
lamp ( circuit 1 in our example ).
b. Switching the "USER/AUTO" switch to AUTO and then back to USER which
sends a command to extinguish.
c. Apply a value less than 5% on the first 0/+10V analog input.
The lamp switches off if all the commands are less than 5%. Again as earlier
the lamp control is a logical result of all three commands.
Apart from the lamp turning off, the display should automatically return to the
previously displayed menu from the "Lighting try" display.
3.2. DIMMING DEVICE CONTROL
There are three ways to control the dimming device. Through the second
analog 0/+10V input. Local command through the control panel which we will look
at closer in section 4.3.4. and digitally through DMX or AVAB protocols (circuit 2
our example). The dimming device has a possible 5120 control steps. DMX and
AVAB protocols only provide 256 so a software smoothing procedure is provided to
give step free fades.
