On this type of foam we can make two types of stratifications:
• Monolithic: a single type of material (fiberglass) covers the foam in successive layers. This technique has
been the historical basis for the manufacture of Boards since the 1960's.
• Sandwich : two types of material (fiberglass and core material) cover the foam in an order that puts the core
between layers of fiber. This high-end technology is much lighter and stronger, but much more expensive
to produce because it requires time and a vacuum or in-mold pose.
The resin is of two types:
• Polyester : traditional material easy to repair quickly but less solid.
• Epoxy : very tolerant and high-end resin, more complex to apply.
PU Boards are classically made of polyester resin
and stringers.
Sandwich core materials range from the most basic to the most complex:
1. Thin wood (bamboo for example, 0.6mm), easy to apply but less resistant.
2. PVC foam in 3mm or 5mm, very strong and waterproof, but complex to apply on the rails.

EPS Boards are necessarily made of epoxy resin,
with a stringer or not, and often in sandwich.
