INITIAL OPERATION OF THE APPLIANCE

Before beginning to work, it is necessary to:
1. Place the lower part of the outer packaging in contact with the floor.
N. B : Use the pictograms printed on the box as reference.
2. Open the outer box.
3. Remove the accessories from the box and carefully lay them on the ground.
4. Remove the appliance from the packaging.
NB: it is recommended that all the packaging components be kept for any future
transportation of the appliance.
CAUTION: these operations must be carried out using protective gloves to avoid any
possible contact with the edges or tips of metal objects.
DANGER: before use, the appliance must be in order and safe to use with the work
equipment, especially the power cable and the extension cable. If everything is not in order,
the appliance must not be used.
5. Insert the vacuum hose into the nozzle on the collection tank, press the button on the nozzle and
insert the vacuum hose fully (Fig.01).
6. Connect the quick coupling in the detergent supply tube of the accessory to the quick coupling
in the vacuum head (Fig.02).
Start the work:
1. Check that the vacuum motor control switch is in the "OFF" position, otherwise turn the switch
to the off position (Fig.03).
2. Check that the detergent solution delivery switch is in the "OFF" position, otherwise turn the
switch to the off position (Fig.04).
3. Check that the plug on the power cable is connected to the power supply socket, otherwise
disconnect it.
WARNING: To prevent damaging the power cable, disconnect the plug from the mains
socket by directly pulling the plug and not the cable.
4. Free the vacuum head (Fig.05) and check that the sponge filter is correctly positioned.
NB: For use on wet surfaces, ensure that the inside of the collection tank is free of any
dust before use.
WARNING: To prevent damage to the detergent solution pick up tube, do not raise the
vacuum cover too much.
5. Unscrew the cap of the detergent solution tank (Fig.06), put the vacuum head on the ground.
6. Using the handle, remove the detergent solution tank from inside the collection tank (Fig.07).
7. Fill the tank with the minimum amount of detergent and clean water (not too much, watch the
MAX mark).
CAUTION: protective gloves should always be worn before handling detergents or acidic or
alkaline solutions, to avoid serious injury to the hands.
ATTENTION: always use detergents whose manufacturer's label indicates their suitability for
carpet floor cleaning machines. Do not use acid or alkaline products or solvents without this
indication.
WARNING: always use low-foam detergent. To safely avoid the production of foam, insert a
small amount of product into the tank. Do not use pure acids.
8. Using the handle, remove the detergent solution tank from inside the collection tank.
9. Insert the pick up filter inside the detergent solution tank (Fig.8), screw on the closing plug.
10. Secure the vacuum head to the collection tank (Fig.9).
11. Plug the power cable into the mains socket.
ATTENTION: do not exceed the maximum mains impedance value allowed for the electrical
connection point (see Technical Data). Please contact your electrical energy supplier if in
doubts concerning mains impedance on the connecting point.
12. Switch on the appliance by positioning the vacuum motor switch to "ON" (Fig. 10).
13. Start the spraying of the detergent solution, setting the chemical product activation - deactivation
switch to "ON" (Fig.11).
14. ATTENTION: The machine is equipped with a pressure switch which allows the pump to
be switched on and off in automatic mode.
By pressing the lever on the suction nozzle, the pump switches on, if released the pump
switches off
15. Start work.
WARNING : before using the appliance, check colour stability and water resistance on a
hidden point of the object to be cleaned.
WARNING : do not clean surfaces that are sensitive to water like for example parquet (the
damp could infiltrate and damage the floor).
N.B.: hot water (maximum 50 °C) increases the effect of the detergent.
WARNING: start the detergent pump only when using. Avoid dry operation and the formation
of stagnation pressure.
WARNING: The protection thermostat stops the detergent pump id there is a risk of
overheating. After the cooling phase (20 - 30 minutes) the pump is again ready for use.
N.B.: For continuous spraying it is possible to fix the spraying lever, press the spraying lever
and push the adjustment key back.
WARNING: Walk over the overlapping surface to be cleaned. During this operation, pull
back the nozzle (do not push.

SUGGESTIONS FOR CLEANING

N.B.: Always use form light to shade (for example from the window to the door).
N.B.: Always use from a clean surface to a dirty surface.
N.B.: A carpet with a jute base could contract and become discoloured if the cleaning is too
wet.
N.B.: Brush carpets with long pile in the direction of the pile after cleaning when they are still
damp (for example with a hairbrush or a cloth).
N.B.: Walk across the treated surface or put back the furniture only after drying in order to
prevent footprints or rust marks forming.

CLEANING METHODS

N.B.: In case of light to normal dirt (domestic cleaning):
Start the spraying.
Simultaneously spray and vacuum the detergent solution in a single passage.
Then switch off the switch for spraying and vacuuming the rest of the detergent solution.
After cleaning, clean the carpets again with hot, clean water.
N.B.: In the case of heavy dirt or stains (heavy duty cleaning):
Switch on the spraying.
Apply the detergent solution and let it work for at least 5 minutes (suction deactivated).
Then clean the surface in the same way as for light/normal dirt.
After cleaning, clean the carpets again with water.

EMPTYING THE COLLECTION TANK

At the end of the work, and before carrying out any type of maintenance, perform the following
operations:
1. Take the appliance to where its collection tank is emptied.
N.B.: the place designated for this operation must comply with current environmental
protection regulations.
CAUTION: These operations must be carried out using gloves to protect the hands.
4. Free the suction head (Fig.05), unscrew the detergent solution tank plug (Fig.06), lay the
vacuum head on the ground.
5. Using the handle, remove the detergent solution tank from inside the collection tank (Fig.07).
6. Empty the collection tank.
7. Refit all the parts.
