Starting up
the machine
3.1 Location of the machine
Once you have carefully unpacked the machine, it has to
be located in a place where the base on which it is going
to rest is not made of metal or any other material that
might generate electromagnetic interference, because you
could get incorrect readings, as this machine analyses very
specific frequencies. For example, a good place to locate
the machine would be on a wooden table with no metal
components.
Please remember to place the machine at least
80 to 100 cm from any source of interference
(computer screens, TV sets, electrical switching
devices, walkie-talkies, etc.).
Installing andpreparing the machine
3.2
Once it has been put correctly into place, you can install
the rest of the material supplied with the machine. To do
this, follow these steps:
• Check that the material in the box received from
the Factory is the same as that listed in point 2.1 of
this manual dealing with Elements making up the
Machine.
• Check that you have a 110/220V power supply socket in
your premises and that the power supply received is the
right one: 100-240Vac / 50-60Hz and 12V / 450mA..
• Connect the TRS-5000 machine via the power supply to
the mains supply.
If you have a PC, you can install the program provided on
the CD supplied with the TRS-5000. In this way, you can
enjoy the different advantages offered, like for example,
the database, copying with code digitisation, etc.
Here are the steps to follow to Install the Program on a
PC:
A. Install the TRS-5000 interface software for Windows
by clicking on the executable SETUP file, which you
can find on the TRS-5000 CD. The installation pro-
gram offers the option of installing the software in
any folder you like. If you want to install it in the
default folder, you just have to click on the big icon
with the drawing of a computer.
B. Once installed, open the program by clicking on the
executable file generated (Start‡ Programs‡ JMA‡
TRS-5000).
C. Connect the TRS-5000 unit to the PC using the USB
cable included with the machine and switch on the
TRS-5000. To check that the installation has been
carried out correctly, just look for the following mes-
sage on the TRS-5000 screen: "JMA TRS-5000 connec-
ted to PC", or the COM icon located in the bottom
left-hand corner of the TR5000 program menu bar,
which will be green if communication has been esta-
blished.

With the TRS-5000 key copying machine, you get the
following messages on the display (see enclosed table),
depending on the different types of transponder that the
key you want to copy has.
