Bypass valve
A bypass valve is a shutoff or throttling valve that is used to bypass another component. The
bypass valve is installed in a pipe that bypasses the other component. Installing such a valve has
the following purpose:
• Safeguarding a minimum flow
• Protection from excessive pressure
• Maintenance option without having to switch off the entire hydraulic system
One pipe heating system
In a one pipe heating system, hot water flows through one radiator after the other.
Two pipe heating system
In a two pipe heating system, hot water flows through the radiators via separate supply and
return pipes.
Remote control
Thermostats with remote control are particularly suitable if the control device is difficult to access.
Heating circuit
A heating circuit refers to the circulation of hot water within a heating system. (Here, this refers to
a surface temperature balance)
Radiator
The heat is given off via the radiator.
