3.3 Functional description

The "Unibox TQ RTL vario" is intended for indi-
vidual room temperature control and for limiting
the return temperature in a surface temperature
balance.
The "QA" valve insert enables automatic flow
control (hydronic balancing) of the surface
temperature balance, as the valve insert can
be variably adjusted and is presettable, dia-
phragm-controlled and independent of differen-
tial pressure. The flow control unit integrated in
the valve insert keeps the differential pressure
at a constant level via the presetting and regu-
lating cross section of the valve.
The installation position of the "Unibox TQ RTL
vario" should be chosen so that fluid flows first
through the heating circuit and then through
the "Unibox TQ RTL vario" valve. The heating
fluid cools down between the entry point of the
heating surface and the "Unibox TQ RTL vario".
The flow rate is controlled by the sensor ele-
ment located in the volume flow. The self-act-
ing thermostat controls the desired room
temperature. The temperature of the surface
temperature balance can be corrected by turn-
ing the handwheel of the return temperature
limiter (see 3.4.1 on page 31). The desired
room temperature can be set by turning the
handwheel of the self-acting thermostat.
