13. GENERAL SAFETY REGULATIONS

To indicate potential dangerous conditions, the following symbols are used. Always carefully read
this information and take the necessary precautions for protecting people and objects.
Operator cooperation is paramount for accident prevention. No accident prevention programme
can be effective without the full cooperation of the person directly responsible for operating the
machine. Most accidents that happen in a company, either in the workplace in transportation, are
caused by failure to respect the most basic safety rules. A careful and prudent operator is the
best insurance against accidents and is indispensable for completing any accident prevention
programme.
DANGER: Indicates an imminent danger that could cause serious injury or death.
WARNING: Indicates a probable dangerous situation that could cause serious injury or
death.
CAUTION: Indicates a probable dangerous situation that could cause minor injuries.
ATTENTION: Indicates a probable dangerous situation that could damage objects.
N.B.: Indicates a note concerning key functions or useful functions.
CONSULTATION: Indicates the need to consult the Operator Manual before carrying out
any operation.
DANGER:
• This appliance must not be used by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensorial
and mental capabilities, or by people without any experience or knowledge, unless they have
been controlled and instructed in the use of the appliance by people responsible for their
safety. Children must be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
• Carefully read the labels on the appliance. Do not cover them for any reason and replace them
immediately if they become damaged.
• Do not use the appliance on surfaces with an inclination greater than the one shown on the
registration plate.
• Always make sure that the work surfaces, floors and ramps, are able to withstand the weight
of the appliance.
• The appliance is not suitable for cleaning rough or uneven floors. Do not use the appliance on
slopes.
• To prevent unauthorised use of the machine, the power supply should be interrupted, switch off
the appliance and pull out the power cable from the socket.
• The value of the electrical voltage specified on the plate should correspond to the mains voltage.
• Do not start the appliance short circuiting terminals or electric wires.
• Regularly check that the electric power cable has not been damaged; if it has been damaged
quickly contact a specialist Fimap service centre.
• Do not use the appliance if the electric power cable is not in a condition to be used.
• For using or replacing the electric power line or connecting the appliance, do not use cable
from a different manufacturer or a cable model different to the original one.
• The connector of the electric power cable or connecting the appliance need to be protected at
least against splashing water.
