NOTE!
Risk of damage!
Be particularly careful on the throttle side, because the throttle tube under the
grip is usually made of thin plastic and can easily be damaged.

4.3 | Installation

Heat the rubber components of the new grips slightly before installation, e.g. with a hairdryer (not
a hot-air fan!); this makes the material more flexible. You can also place the grips in a warm water
bath with a little dishwashing liquid for a few minutes. They will be particularly easy to slide onto
the handlebar as a result.
The desired strength is then only achieved after an extended drying period (min. 24 hours
at a room temperature of approx. 18°C). Brake cleaner also makes installation easier
and dries quicker. But, as has already been mentioned, it is not suitable for sponge or
foam rubber grips.
We recommend using a two-component adhesive for grips from the Louis range for safe and per-
manent fixing of the gazzini grips. However, please be aware that if an adhesive such as this is
used, you will be unable to remove the grips again without destroying them.
Then install the fittings casing and, if available, the bar ends or the supplied sealing plugs (smaller
sealing plug left, larger sealing plug right in the handlebar tube) on the handlebar. Before setting
off on a journey, check again whether the grips are firmly fitted on the handlebar and whether the
throttle twistgrip can rotate freely and independently moves back into its initial position. Otherwise,
the fittings and/or the bar ends may have to be moved slightly.

5 | STORAGE

Until they are installed, the grips should be stored in the original packaging in a closed and dark
room that is protected against the weather and moisture.

6 | CLEANING AND CARE

Proper care of your gazzini grips extends their service life and keeps them looking good. Sunlight
can age the rubber material in the long term. Over time, you will therefore notice a little black rub-
ber abrasion on your hands or gloves. To prevent this problem, clean the grips at regular intervals
with a warm, mild soapy solution or a motorbike cleaner from the Louis range and a lint-free, non-
scratch cloth.
