3.3 Functional description

In combination with a thermostat, the "Unibox
T vario" is used for individual room temperature
control in surface heating systems.
You have to option to operate the "Unibox T
vario" with a thermostat with remote control or
a room thermostat with actuator.
The thermostat with remote control or the room
thermostat which has to be ordered separately
detects the room temperature which is trans-
ferred to the control piston or the actuator. The
control piston or the actuator opens or closes
the thermostatic valve according to require-
ments.
You can set the desired room temperature by
turning the handwheel of the thermostat with
remote control or by setting the room thermo-
stat.
The installation position of the "Unibox T vario"
has to be chosen so that the heating fluid
passes first through the heating circuit and then
through the valve of the "Unibox T vario". On
its way from the entry into the heating surface
to the "Unibox T vario", the heating fluid cools
down.
The integrated thermostatic valve is equipped
with a presettable valve insert and thus enables
the volume flow to be accurately adapted to
the required heat demand (see chart in the
appendix) and hydronic balancing to be carried
out.
