10.2 Checking of Levelling Precision
The accuracy of the rotation laser should be checked regularly. To do so, a free measurement
distance of 30 metres is required. A total of four measurements are performed:
Procedure:
• Attach the rotation laser to a tripod (horizontal position), switch it on (button 3), and wait
until the automatic levelling feature has aligned the laser beam horizontally.
• Press the button 9 to stop the rotation; the rotation laser switches to Spot mode.
• Use the buttons 1 and 2 (on the laser) or 11 and 19 (on the remote control) to align the
laser beam on the opposite wall (see illustration).
• Mark the centre point of the beam on the wall see illustration)
• Now rotate the PRIMUS by 90°, without altering the height of the instrument, this means
that the height and the position of the tripod may on no account be altered!
• As described above, the laser beam is again aligned on the wall (buttons 1 and 2 or 11
and 19) and the centre point of the laser beam is marked.
• The above procedure is repeated twice more (rotation by 90°, alignment of laser beam
on wall, marking of its centre), so that there are a total of four marks on the wall (0°, 90°,
180°, 270°).
• The instrument is sufficiently accurate when the highest and the lowest marks are no
more than 12mm apart.
• If the rotation laser is out of tolerance, an adjustment by NEDO or by an authorised cus-
tomer service point will be necessary!
