In these operating instructions we have marked the places
that have to do with your safety with this sign: m
m general Safety notes
• Please pass on safety notes and instructions to all
those who work on the machine.
• Comply with all safety instructions and warnings on
the machine.
• Keep all safety instructions and warnings on the ma-
chine fully legible.
• Check all power supply lines. Do not use defective
lines.
• Make sure that the machine stands stable on firm
ground.
• Caution when working: There is a danger to fingers,
hands and eyes.
• Keep children away from the machine when it is
connec t ed to the power supply.
• When working on the machine, all safety mechanisms
and covers must be mounted.
• Operating personal must be at least 18 years of age.
Trainees must be at least 16 years of age, but may only
operate the machine under adult supervision.
• Persons working on the machine may not be diverted
from their work.
• The working space on the machine must be free of
chips and wood scrap.
• Wear only close-fitting clothes. Remove rings, bracelets
and other jewelry.
• For the safety of long hair, wear a cap or hair net.
• Cleaning, changing, calibrating, and setting of the
ma chine may only be carried out when the motor is
switched off. Pull the power supply plug and wait for
the rotating tool to completely stop.
• Switch the machine off and pull power supply plug
when rectifying any malfunctions.
• Connection and repair work on the electrical installa-
tion may be carried out by a qualified electrician only.
• All protection and safety devices must be replaced
after completing repair and maintenance procedures.
• Remove all cuttings from the work surface ensuring it
is completely clean.
• Use the machine in dry areas and away from inflam-
mable substances or gas.
• Do not use the machine outdoors in adverse weather
or environmental conditions (explosive atmospheres,
storms or rain).
• Wear appropriate clothing: do not wear loose-sleeved
garm ents or objects such as scarves, chains or brace-
lets which may get caught in machine's moving parts.
• Always use personal protective gear: standard accident-
pre vention goggles, well-fitting gloves, earphones or
ear plugs and headgear to cover hair if necessary.
• Handle the power supply cable with care: do not use
it to lift the machine or to pull the plug out of the
socket. Keep it away from cutting edges, oily patches
and high temperatures.
• When in need, only use approved power supply cable
ex ten sions.
• Beware of electrification: avoid all contact with earthed
objects such as pipes, radiators and refrigerators.

SAWS

• Operate and handle the saw with both hands on the
hand grip and front handle.
• Do not grab under the work piece.
• Adjust the cutting depth thickness of the work piece.
• Fasten the work piece on a fixed worktop.
• Use a stopper or guide rail for longitudinal cuts.
• Hold the saw with both hands and stand laterally from
the saw blade so that you are able to counter a back-
stroke.
• If the saw blade gets jammed, release the on-off switch
and wait until the saw blade comes to a standstill.
• Check that the blade guard can be moved freely and
closes correctly.
• Always set the mitre square to 90° for plunge strokes.
• Make sure the splitting wedge is adjusted correctly.
• Do not use saw blades which are damaged or de-
formed.
• Do not use the saw without guards in position.
• Do not use the saw to cut anything other than wood or
similar materials.
• Use only saw blades recommended by the manufac-
turer according to EN847-1.
• Connect your plunge cut saw to a dust collecting de-
vice when sawing.
• Select saw blades in relation to the material to be cut.
• Check the maximum depth of cut.
• When sawing long work pieces, always use extension
wings to provide better support, and use clamps or
other clamping devices.
• Wear ear protection.
WARnIng! noise can be a health hazard. When the noise
level exceeds 85dB(A), be sure to wear ear protection.
m Proper use
Ce tested machines meet all valid eC machine guidelines as
well as all relevent guidelines for each machine.
• The machine must only be used in technically perfect
con dition in accordance with its designated use and
the in structions set out in the operating manual, and
only by safety-conscious persons who are fully aware of
the risks involved in oerating the machine. Any func-
tional dis orders, especially those affecting the safety of
the machine, sholud terefore be rectified immediately.
• Any other use exceeds authorization. The manufacturer
is not responsible for any damages resulting from un-
authorized use; risk is the sole responsibility of the
operator.
• The safety, work and maintenance instructions of the
manufacturer as well as the technical data given in
the calibrations and dimensions must be adhered to.
• Relevant accident prevention regulations and other,
