This conversion kit shall be installed by a qualified service agency in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions and all applicable codes and requirements of the authority having
jurisdiction. If the information in these instructions is not followed exactly, a fire, explosion or
production of carbon monoxide may result causing property damage, personal injury or loss
of life. The qualified service agency is responsible for the proper installation of this kit. The
installation is not proper and complete until the operation of the converted appliance is checked
as specified in the owner instructions supplied with the kit.
WARNING: Failure to position the parts in accordance with these diagrams or failure to use only parts specifically approved
with this appliance may result in property damage or personal injury.
CAUTION: Before proceeding with conversion, the gas supply must be shut off prior to disconnecting the electrical supply.
1. Open the glass viewing door.
2. Remove all glass embers and the 6
screws holding the glass ember tray in
place (Fig. 1).
3. Remove the burner tube (Fig. 2).
4. Remove the burner orifice. A back-up
wrench must be used on the manifold to
ensure that the flex tubing does not twist
or kink. Replace with the burner orifice
supplied using pipe thread compound.
5. Use 7/16" wrench to loosen the pilot
hood until the conversion tab slides
easily (Fig. 3). Slide the tab to the fuel
desired.
NOTE: The tab is marked with NG or P. Tighten the pilot hood back to original position.
6. Before replacing the burner assembly, adjust the air shutter opening according to the table on the back of
this leaflet.
7. Re-install and re-secure the burner tube, ensuring that the venturi fits over the burner orifice.
8. Re-install the glass ember tray.
9. To convert the main valve to the desired fuel, follow the instructions that are supplied with the regulator as-
sembly kit.
10. The conversion data label must be filled out and attached adjacent to the valve.
11. Turn on the gas supply and check for gas leaks by brushing on a soap and water solution. Do not use
open flame.
12. Light the pilot and main burner to ensure that the gas lines have been purged. Purge all gas lines with the glass door
open.
13. Replace the glass embers.
14. Assure that a continuous flow is at the burer before closing the glass viewing door. Turn on the electrical supply to
the appliance.
