instructions for use
Before you use your pressure cooker for the fi rst time, wash and rinse it thor
oughly in hot water and dry immediately.
Please inspect the bottom of the cookware and the hob for any remaining
dirt, adhesive labels and unevenness. Moving the cookware around may cause
damage. We recommend lubricating the rubber seal with a little cooking oil to
make opening and closing the lid easier. To ensure that the correct pressure is
produced in the cooker to speed up the cooking process, the pot must contain
a minimum quantity of liquid (water, stock, etc.). If you are preparing a dish
which generates a lot of froth, the pot must be no more than halffull.
tips for energy-saving cooking
To save valuable energy when cooking, please bear the following in mind:
• Ensure that the base of the pot has a larger diameter than the hot plate, and
not viceversa; this can save up to 15% energy.
• Always use the cooker with the lid on, this saves up to 20% energy.
• Make use of the afterheat of electrical hot plates. Switch them off approx
imately 10 minutes before the cooking process is fi nished. This can save up
to 10% energy.

closing the pressure cooker

please check the safety devices before
Silicon seal
closing the pressure cooker.
The pressure regulating valve opening (see fi g.
2) must be clean and the safety valve must not
be jammed. You can check this by pressing your
fi nger on the safety valve stopper on the under
fi g. 4
Safty valve
side of the lid (see fi g. 4).
If you are able to press the stopper in, this means that the safety valve is work
ing properly. If the stopper does not respond to the pressure and is jammed, it
must be loosened and cleaned, as described on page 26. Place the lid on the
cooking pot so that the marking on the
cooker handle (black dot) is aligned with
the marking on the lid (silver dot) (see
fi g. 5). Then press the lid down slightly
and turn it until both handles are on top
of one another and you hear the release
button click into place.
Check to see that the lid is correctly
locked and that the release button is in
the rear position (see fi g. 6). When the
nib of the release button can no longer
be seen, this means that the lid is cor
rectly locked. The pressure cooker is now
properly closed.
