Operation and Control

Refer to the instruction manual of the Baier diamond
channel cutter used for information on changing
the dry diamond cutting discs, adjusting the cut-
ting depth, connecting the dust extractor to the dia-
mond channel cutter and handling dry diamond cut-
ting discs.

Plug the mains plug (4) of the diamond
channel cutter into the machine socket (23) of
the walk-behind system.

Fix the connection cable (21) of the diamond
channel cutter safely onto the walk-behind
system. The connection cable must not touch
the ground and hinder the work sequence.
7.1
Adjusting the walk­behind
system to the operator
DANGER
Risk of injury due to electric shock.
Î Disconnect the mains plug before carrying out
any work on the walk-behind system and the
diamond channel cutter.
Adjust the guide of the walk-behind system so that it
can be operated in a comfortable body posture and
without tiring.

7.1.1 Adjusting the working height

The working height of the walk-behind system
can be achieved by adjusting the tilting tube (7):

Undo the clamping lever (6) of the adjustable
tube (19).

Push the inclined tube (7) downwards or
upwards:

Pushing the inclined tube (7) downwards
causes the top handle (1) to move to a higher
position.

Pushing the inclined tube (7) upwards
causes the top handle (1) into a lower
position.

If the required height of the top handle (1) is
reached, tighten the clamping lever (6) of the
adjustable tube (19).

7.1.2 Adjusting the bottom handle

It must be possible for a light pressure to be ap-
plied to the front roller (15) of the diamond channel
cutter (10) via the bottom handle (22).
Adjust the bottom handle (22):

Undo the clamping lever (5) of the bottom
handle (22).

Push the bottom handle (22) upwards or
downwards into the required position.

Tighten the clamping lever (5) of the bottom
handle (22).

7.1.3 Adjusting the guide indicator

The guide indicator (14) on the walk-behind sys-
tem is a visual orientation aid and enables exact
cutting removal of floor material in accordance with
the specifications.
Adjust the guide indicator (14):

Undo the star knob (1).
Align the distance of the pointer (3) from the

floor by turning the angle clamp (5).
Tighten the star knob (1).

Undo the knurled nut (4).
10
Push the pointer (3) to the right or left in the
angle clamp (5).
10
Tighten the knurled nut (4); if necessary,
hold the hexagon nut M5 (2) in position.
7.2
Switch on the diamond cutter
and cut
Always hold onto the walk-behind system

firmly with both hands on the handles (1) / (22).
Position the front roller (15) of the diamond
1
channel cutter (10) on the floor – the dry
diamond cutting discs must not touch the floor.
Switch on the diamond channel cutter (10)

at the switch (3) of the walk-behind system and
wait until the working speed has been reached
– the green LED (18) on the diamond channel
cutter lights up.
Push the dry diamond cutting discs uniformly
into the floor – the green LED (18) on the
diamond channel cutter (10) must not go out.

As soon as the rear roller (11) is positioned
on the floor, the diamond channel cutter (10) can
be pushed in the direction of the planned chase
(working direction  of the diamond channel
cutter).
