Before Starting Work
To ensure safe working with the walk-behind sys-
tem, the following points must be observed before
each use:
•
Read through all safety instructions and hazard
information in this instruction manual and in
the instruction manual of the diamond channel
cutter used.
•
Wear protective clothing such as hard hat,
hearing protection, safety footwear, face
protection or safety goggles, safety gloves and if
necessary, an apron.
•
Connect a suitable dust extractor (e.g. BAIER
special dust extractor).
5
Adjusting the walkbehind
system to the Baier diamond
channel cutter to be mounted
The following Baier diamond channel cutters can be
mounted on the walk-behind system:
BDN 452, BDN 453, BDN 454, BDN 455,
BDN 463 / 4, BDN 464 / 4, BDN 466 / 6 or BDN 511.
The fixing of the diamond channel cutters onto the
walk-behind system differs as follows:
•
2
In the case of the BDN 452, BDN 453,
BDN 454, BDN 455, BDN 463 / 4, BDN 464 / 4
and BDN 466 / 6, the protective hood of the
diamond channel cutter is fixed onto the
walk-behind system using a hexagon bolt M8 (1),
a flat bracket (6) and an angle bracket, right (8).
•
In the case of the BDN 511, the protective
2
hood of the diamond channel cutter is fixed onto
the walk-behind system by a mushroom head
bolt M8 (4) or a hexagon bolt M8 (1), an angle
bracket, left (5) and an angle bracket, right (8).
It is possible to replace the flat bracket with the an-
gle bracket, left and vice versa (the flat bracket and
angle bracket, left can be ordered from Baier, see
Chapter "Tools and Accessories" on page 25).

5.1
Modifying the walkbehind
system
DANGER
Risk of injury due to electric shock.
Î Disconnect the mains plug before carrying out
any work on the walk-behind system and the di-
amond channel cutter.
Dismantling:
•
2
Remove the hexagon nut M8 (9) and mush-
room head bolt M8 (4) or hexagon bolt M8 (1)
from the retainer for the protective hood.
•
Unscrew star knob (12).
2
•
2
Remove the angle clamp (11) of the guide
indicator.
•
2
Unscrew both hexagon nuts M8 (10) on the
angle bracket, right (8).
•
2
Remove angle bracket, right (8).
•
Remove the two hexagon socket head
2
screws M8×50 (2) and M8×65 (3) with flat b
bracket (6) or angle bracket, left (5).
Mounting:
•
2
Select the corresponding fixing – flat brack-
et (6) or angle bracket (5), left according to the
Baier diamond channel cutter to be mounted,
see Chapter "Adjusting the walk-behind system
to the Baier diamond channel cutter to be
mounted" on page 22.
•
2
Push the hexagon socket head bolt
M8×50 (2) through the back of the flat brack-
et (6) or angle bracket, left (5) and guide (7).
•
2
Push the hexagon socket head bolt
M8×65 (3) through the front of the flat bracket (6)
or angle bracket, left (5) and guide (7).
•
2
Push the angle bracket, right (8) onto the two
hexagon socket head bolts (2) / (3).
•
2
Screw one hexagon nut M8 (10) each onto
both hexagon socket head bolts (2) / (3) and
tighten (tightening torque: between 20 and 25
Nm).
•
Push the angle clamp (11) of the guide
2
indicator onto the front, longer hexagon socket
head bolt M8×65 (3).
•
2
Screw on the star knob (12) and fix the angle
clamp (11) of the guide indicator.
•
Mount the Baier diamond channel cutter onto
the walk-behind system, see Chapter "Mounting
the walk-behind system on the diamond channel
cutter" on page 23.
