• A short in the motor; check the ground fault interrupter.
• Unit runs for short distance but stops. Check for overloaded circuit or possible faulty motor.
(Do Not Use Extension Cords.)
• Motor runs but unit becomes motionless (gear box worm is worn or the drive pin is sheared).
Machine tips over backwards before sensing wall:
• Filter overloaded with sand.
• Improper sensor bar adjustment (too high).
• One or two coils should be removed from sensor bar spring to allow optional weights to
operate reversing mechanism.
• Cord too short for pool length.
FOR MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE, PLEASE REMEMBER TO
KEEP SENSOR BAR LEVEL AT ALL TIMES
POWER SUPPLy SENSOR INDICATOR
The MakoShark 2 DC Power Supply is equipped with a pump overload and pump out of water
sensor. When condition exists, a signal will sound and the unit will shut down within 10 seconds.
Follow the steps below to fix the condition.
• Operate cleaner out of water. (Low Current Sensor)
1. Switch off the power supply switch and submerge the cleaner into the water.
2. Switch on the power supply switch and observe the cleaner operate in the water.
• Operate cleaner in the water but the beeper goes off and the cleaner stops.
(Over Current Sensor)
1. Switch off the power supply switch and remove the cleaner from the water.
2. Flip over the cleaner and observe the intake port to remove obstruction from the bottom of
the cleaner at intake port.
3. Switch on the power supply switch and observe the cleaner operate in the water.
With the aid of a long screwdriver or needle-nose pliers, rotate the impeller and dislodge the object.
All large objects should be removed from the pool before the MAKOSHARK 2 DC is put into opera-
tion. Also check the bottom of the cleaner at intake port and remove debris.

Switch off the power supply

Flip cleaner over. Use needle-nose pliers and flat-head
screwdriver to remove object.
Pull object out of the pump housing.
