Operating example:
A team consisting of:
• A team leader.
• Two independent two-man teams (fire-fighters, crane operator & labourer).
The team leader is on group Gr00. The two members of the 1st two-man team are on group
Gr01 and the 2nd two-man team are on group Gr02.
This allows each of the 2 two-man teams to independently carry out discussions without
disrupting the other.
The team manager hears and is heard by both two-man teams. He can choose to switch
over to group Gr02 or Gr03 at any time in order to carry out discussions with one or other of
the two-man teams.
e. « Push-to-talk » (PTT) menu
Principle:
In a classic operating mode, the Vokkero system offers "open mike" communication enabling
an audio conference. In certain cases, it may be necessary to switch off the mikes of all or
some of the speakers (particularly when users are talking to people who are not part of the
network, or when silence is required).
The Push-to-talk (or PTT) function allows you to achieve communication instantaneously, or
to switch off the mike using a dedicated key.
Procedure:
• Access the Options menu, and then PTT. Press "OK" to validate your choice.
• Use "+" or "-" and select On to activate the function. Press "OK" to validate your choice.
• Press "Menu" to return to the home screen.
Once the PTT mode has been activated, the Mic. icon will appear on the main screen, which
means that the mode has been activated. The microphone is closed.
Meaning of the icons:
means that the mode is enabled and the microphone of your headset is open.
means that the mode is enabled and the microphone of your headset is closed.
Using the "PTT- Mute Mic" mode
The PTT is used via the "Vokkero" key on the keypad (where the Vokkero label is located).
• Briefly pressing it (for less than one second) enables the mic. to be activated or deacti-
vated permanently.
• When the mic. is closed, continuing to press the Vokkero key makes it possible to open
the mic. and communicate. When the Vokkero key is released, the mic. is switched off
once again.
• To stop the PTT mode, return to the dedicated sub-menu and select Off (cf. the "pro-
cedure" section above).
