SHADOWLOOP:Positionedin the pathof a swing gate and is active ONLYwhen
the gate is in the open position. Only used in swing gate applications.
INTERRUPT LOOP:Positionedoutside the property and when activatedwill open a
closing gate.
EXIT LOOP:Positionedinside the property and when activatedwill open a closed
gate.
INSTALLATION
Theloopitselfmustbea continuous lengthof wire withoutanybreaksor splices. T heloopwire canbe 14,16,or 18gaugestrandedwirewith eitheracross-linked
polyethylene(XLPE)or polyester insulation.
Mark the loop layout on the pavement.Removesharp inside corners that can

damagethe loop wire insulation.
2.
Determinethe thickness of the pavementto ensure that the depth of the cut
will not exceedthe thickness of the pavementbeforeattempting to cut the
loop slots. Set the saw to cut a depth (typically 2-2.5 inches [5.1-6.4 cml)
that will ensure a minimum
of I inch
(2.5 cm) from the top of the loop wires to the pavementsurface. The saw
width must be larger than the diameter of the loop wire to avoid damageto
the wire insulation when placedin the saw cut. Cut the loop, corner angles,
and feederslots. Removeall debris from the saw slot with compressedair.
Checkthat the bottom of the cut is smooth and did not breakthough the
thickness of the pavement.
3.
Wrap the loop wire in the loop slot using a wooden stick or roller to insert
the wire to the bottom of the saw slot until the desired number of turns are
reached(Caution:do not use a sharp object). Eachturn of wire must lay flat
on top of the previousturn.
