KickBack Control Function
If the KickBack Control function is switched on,
the power supply to the motor will be interrup-
ted electronically if there is a sudden kickback
in the power tool (e.g. due to a blocked saw
blade).
The KickBack Control function is switched on by default; ON
is lit up green in the KickBack Control indicator (13).
If the KickBack Control function has been triggered, the fol-
lowing will occur:
– The motor is switched off,
– ON is lit up red in the KickBack Control indicator (13),
– the (14) status indicator flashes red,
– the worklight (9) flashes.
Release the on/off switch (7). To restart the tool, rectify the
blockage in the saw blade, if necessary, and then switch the
power tool back on again.
To switch off the KickBack Control function, press the Kick-
Back Control button (12). OFF is lit up in the KickBack Con-
trol indicator (13) and the status indicator (14) is lit up yel-
low. If the power tool is not used for longer than 5 min or if
the rechargeable battery is removed, the KickBack Control
function automatically switches back on.
It will no longer be possible to switch the power tool
u
on if the KickBack Control function is faulty. Have the
power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using
only original replacement parts.
Resetting to Factory Settings (Reset)
Press one of the buttons on the user interface (17) for ap-
proximately 7 s to reset all settings on the user interface. As
confirmation, the status indicator (14) will flash blue 4
times.

Working Advice

Before carrying out any work on the power tool (e.g.
u
maintenance, tool change etc.), remove the battery
from the power tool. There is risk of injury from uninten-
tionally pressing the on/off switch.
Switch the power tool off immediately if the saw blade
u
becomes blocked.
Tips
When sawing lightweight materials, take into account
u
the statutory provisions and recommendations of the
material manufacturers.
Before sawing into wood, chipboard, building materials,
etc., check for any foreign objects such as nails, screws, etc.
and use a suitable saw blade.
Switch on the power tool and guide it towards the workpiece
you wish to work on. Place the base plate (3) on the surface
of the workpiece and saw through the material applying even
pressure and feed. Switch the power tool off once you have
finished your work.
Switch the power tool off immediately if the saw blade jams.
Widen the sawing gap slightly with a suitable tool and pull
the power tool out.

Swivelling and removable base plate (see figure B)
Thanks to its mobility, the base plate (3) adopts the required
angle position of the surface.
Depending on the application and the saw blade used, the
base plate (3) can be moved to three different settings
lengthwise.
Press the release button (11) and slide the base plate (3)
into the required position. Release the release button and
check whether the base plate has securely clicked into
place. If required, slide the base plate until it securely clicks
into place.
To clean the saw blade receptacle (21), you can also com-
pletely pull out the base plate (3) when the release button
(11) is pressed. After cleaning, slide the base plate back into
its holder until it engages.
Do not press the release button during operation. You
u
could lose control over the power tool and injure yourself.
Plunge cutting (see figure C)
Plunge cuts may only be applied to soft materials,
u
such as wood, gypsum board, etc. Do not plunge cut
metal materials.
Use only saw blades with a maximum length of
u
100 mm for plunge cutting. When longer saw blades are
used, the base plate cannot be rested on the workpiece
and the power tool does not have the required hold.
Place the power tool so that the edge of the base plate (3)
rests on the workpiece, without the saw blade (2) touching
the workpiece, and switch it on. When using power tools
with stroke rate control, select the maximum stroke rate.
Press the power tool firmly against the workpiece and allow
the saw blade to plunge slowly into the workpiece.
As soon as the base plate (3) rests fully on the workpiece,
continue sawing along the required cutting line.
For particular jobs, the saw blade (2) can also be fitted after
being turned 180° in order to operate the power tool the
other way around.
Flush sawing (see figure D)
Protruding components such as water pipes, for example,
can be cut directly at the wall using elastic bi-metal saw
blades.
Ensure that the saw blade is always longer than the

diameter of the workpiece. There is a risk of kickback.
Place the saw blade directly against the wall and bend it
slightly by applying lateral pressure to the power tool until
the base plate is flush with the wall. Switch on the power tool
and saw through the workpiece applying consistent lateral
pressure.
Utility hook (see figure E)
Your power tool is equipped with a utility hook (6) for
hanging it, e. g., from a ladder. Simply fold out the utility
hook to the required position.
When the power tool is hung up, take care that the

saw blade is protected from accidental contact. This
poses a risk of injury.
