Note: Do not assembleyour scanneruntil you have
completed Step2.
2. Install the Software
1. Close all programs.
2. Insertthe HPPhotosmartCD that is appropriate for
your language and operating system.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions to finish the
installation.
Windows: If the installation does not start
automatically: On the Start menu,click Runand type:
D:setup.exe(where D is the letterof the CD-ROM
drive).
Macintosh: Double-clickthe CD icon on the desktop.
Then double-click on the install icon in the window.
3. Connect the Scanner and
Accessories in the Order Shown
I. Connectthe ADF/TMA unit by inserting the hinges
on the unit into the hinge slotson the back of the
scanner bed.
2. Connectthe accessorycable from the back of the
ADF/TMA unit to the scanner flatbed.
3. Connectone end of the power cable to the power
port on the scannerand the other end to the power
adapter. Connect the power adapter to a surge
protector or a grounded wall outlet.
4. Connectone end of the USBcable to the USBport
on the back of the scanner and the other end to a
USB port on your computer.
4. To Scan
I. Removethe protectivefilm from the scannerglass, if
present.
2. Placea picture face down on the scannerglass and
close the lid.
3. Press the Scan Picture button.

2. Installez Ie logiciel
1. Fermeztous les programmes.
2. Insérezle CD HPPhotosmartcorrespondant votre
langue et votre systémed'exploitation.
3. Suivez les instructions l'écran pour terminer
IIinstallation.
Windows : si Pinstallationne démarre pas
automatiquement,effectuezles opérations suivantes.
partir du menuDémarrer, cliquez surExécuter,puis
saisissezD:setup.exe(D correspondant la lettrede
votre lecteurde CD-ROM).
Macintosh : double-cliquezsur Ilicöne de CD sur le
bureau. Puisdouble-cliquezsur l'icöne d'installation
dans la fenétre.
3. Branchez Ie scanner et Ies
accessoires dans l'ordre indiqué

2. Branchez le cable d'accessoire de l'unité ADF/TMA
(au dos) au scanner plat.
3. Branchez une extrémité du cable d'alimentation
port dialimentation du scanner,puis llautre extrémité
l'adaptateur. Branchezl'adaptateur un
parasurtenseurou une prise murale reliée la
terre.
4. Branchezune extrémité du cable USBau port USB
du scanner,puis l'autre extrémité un port
USB sur votre ordinateur.
4. Pour lancer Ia numérisation
I. Retirezle film protecteurde la vitre du scanner,le
cas échéant.
2. Placezune image face imprimée vers la vitre du
scanner,puis fermez le capot.
3. Appuyez sur le bouton Numériser image.
