Install the LED Aquarium Hood and Light
Before placing the hood on the aquarium, position hood
face up with the fish feeding port closest to you.
Slide each LED light module into each track at an angle.
Once installed in the tracks, LED modules may sit slightly
askew, which is normal.
NOTE: The LED light module closest to the
power adapter should be placed near the
cord track on the underside of the hood.
Route the cord to the back of the hood using the cord
track on the left underside of the hood.
For the 20 gal kit to accommodate the filter, remove the
flat perforated cutout from right side of the hood. This is
not necessary for the 10 gallon kit.
For the 20 gallon kit, attach the AC adapter plug into
the jack on the end for the LED light strand. This is not
necessary for the 10 gallon kit, as the cord is hardwired,
and does not have a separate jack and adapter. Do not
plug into the power outlet yet.
With the lights installed, place the plastic hood on the aquarium.

Final Setup Steps
Double check that the water level is within the recommended parameters
for the filter, and adjust water level if necessary.
Plug all appliances and the light hood into the power outlet, always making
a drip loop for safety. Use the light switch to power LED lights ON and OFF.
Allow the filter to run to be sure it is functioning properly.
The water temperature should be allowed to stabilize before adding fish.
Ideal Water Temperatures:
Goldfish: 68ºF – 72ºF
Tropical Fish: 76ºF – 82ºF

blend that is proven to reduce fish loss due to ammonia and nitrite toxicity.
To start new aquariums up to 20 gallons, add entire 50 ml bottle.
Test aquarium water with Tetra EasyStrips
® ™ test strips
to ensure adequate water quality.
If all water parameters test in the safe range,
the aquarium is then ready for fish.
