It is not permitted to attach additional holders
u
to the fork, e.g. for panniers, in conjunction with
an ABS.
Note: You can change the ABS function in the eBike
settings: Select the application you require or switch
off the ABS function if necessary.
Before each trip
Check to ensure that the ABS indicator light is work-
ing correctly on the display and/or control unit when-
ever you switch the eBike on. You can find more infor-
mation about this in the section entitled (see "ABS in-
dicator light", page English – 11).
Please check the condition and roadworthiness of the
eBike before every journey. It is your responsibility to
check that the eBike is in perfect working order and
fully roadworthy before every journey. Using the
eBike with known faults increases your risk of per-
sonal injury.
Always check that the front and rear brakes are work-
ing properly before each trip.
Check to ensure that the thickness of the brake pads
and the brake discs meets the manufacturer's specifi-
cations before setting off.
Check the ABS control unit is fitted securely to the
fork.
Before your first trip
Familiarize yourself with how the brakes and ABS
work and how they respond when you actuate them,
for example by practicing your braking technique
away from busy roads.
The braking power can change over time and a run-
ning-in period may be necessary when the brakes are
new or when the brake pads have been replaced. For
more information about the braking system, refer to
the brake manufacturer's instruction manual.
During the trip
Adapt your riding style to the present riding situation,
the road conditions and your cycling abilities.
Bosch eBike Systems
Operation
Please be aware that the ABS may increase your brak-
ing distance.
On slippery surfaces, the tires skid more easily and
there is a increased risk of a fall. You should therefore
reduce your speed, applying the brakes in good time
using a steady pressure.
ABS indicator light
The ABS indicator light must come on after starting
the eBike and must go out again once you start riding
at a speed of approx. 3 mph.
If the indicator light does not go out once you have
started riding or comes on while riding, this means
that there is a fault with the ABS or that you have indi-
cated the shutdown of the ABS functionality. If a con-
trol unit with a display screen or a display is con-
nected, you will also be shown an error code on this.
You can also view a saved error code on the eBike
Flow app. The ABS will then be disabled. The brake
system will continue working, simply without the con-
trol provided by the ABS.
Always have repairs carried out by a profes-
u
sional.
The functionality of the rear-wheel brake is not af-
fected by whether or not the ABS is working.
WARNING – ABS indicator light on.
u
If the ABS indicator light is on, the ABS function is
no longer active.
Note: The ABS indicator light may come on in ex-
treme riding situations where the front wheel and the
rear wheel are turning at very different speeds, for ex-
ample when riding solely on the rear wheel or if a
wheel is turning for an unusually long period without
making contact with the ground (assembly stands).
This will switch the ABS off. To re-enable the ABS,
carefully start riding and check whether the ABS indi-
cator light goes out again. If it remains lit, stop the
eBike and restart it (switch it off and on again).
CAUTION – faults with the ABS cannot be sig-
u
naled if the ABS indicator light is defective.
