Manual
11.1.3
Manual mode is intended exclusively for
maintenance purposes, i.e. for checking the
operation of the pump and the solenoid
valve. The plant operator cannot access this
mode.
• Vacuum test
Activation of this mode 昀椀rst causes the
system port (at outlet of the system return
line) to be closed. The pump then generates
a vacuum within 5 seconds. This vacuum
must be maintained for about 100 seconds to
allow the user to determine that the tank is
tight, following which the test is successfully
completed. This test is normally carried out
prior to commissioning as well as after main-
tenance of the system.
11.2. Control modes
Fill level controlled (%)
11.2.1
Control takes place via an external 昀氀oating
signal or a non-昀氀oating signal (230 V). It
depends on the type of pressure holding con-
trol used and whether a pump-controlled or
compressor-controlled diaphragm expansion
vessel is used. When the signal is applied, the
pump switches on. The 昀椀lling operation takes
place until the level set on the control of the
expansion vessel is reached.
Pressure-controlled (P)
11.2.2
Control takes place via a pressure sensor that
is integrated in the module. When the system
pressure has dropped to the "Fill command
on" activation pressure, the pump switches
on and operates until "Fill command off" is
reached.
In both control modes, the running time and
昀椀lling quantities (if the system is equipped
with a pulse water meter) are monitored. In
addition to this, the pressure in the system is
monitored. If the system pressure falls below
or rises above the working pressure range, an
error message appears. The system activates
degassing and 昀椀lling until the pressure is
back within the normal working range.

Filling
11.2.3
The Tagus Vac 7-30 unit operates solely as
an automatic de-aeration unit.
11.3. Monitoring
The primary purpose of the monitoring
functions is to detect errors in the system
at an early stage and to protect the system
components to the greatest extent possible
by means of appropriate signals or by auto-
matically shutting down the system. They are
particularly aimed at detecting leakages at an
early stage and to limit leakages.
Top-up quantity (monitoring)
11.3.1
The operator can freely parameterise the
top-up quantity. If the conditions described
below are not satis昀椀ed, the system will
indicate an error; the 昀氀oating error contact
will be opened until the error is manually
acknowledged.
• The actual run time must not exceed a maxi-
mum time per cycle.
• The minimum interval between two cycles
(pause) must not be shorter than the time
programmed.
• The maximum number of cycles per time
window must not exceed the number
programmed in the run time window (e.g., no
more than 3 cycles in the last 8 hours.)
If a litre meter (IWZ in Top-Up Unit 1.2/2.2)
is connected and activated, the operator can
monitor a maximum 昀椀lling quantity per cycle
instead of the maximum 昀椀lling time per cycle.
Pressure monitoring
11.3.2
The maximum allowable pressure and level
should not be exceeded. Therefore, pressure
deviations are signalled.
