Setting Up the Blender
Above Counter Installation
wWARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard
Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
Do not remove ground prong.
Do not use an adapter.
Do not use an extension cord.
Failure to follow these instructions
can result in death, fire, or
electrical shock.
Before you begin
Select the installation location carefully. The
following guidelines must be followed when
selecting a suitable location:
• The Quiet Shield™ requires at least 20
inches of clearance between the counter-
top and any overhead cabinets. Allow a
minimum of 5 inches of clearance behind
the unit.
• The unit should be installed within four
feet of a grounded three-prong outlet
equipped with a Ground Fault Circuit
Interruptor.
• The countertop should be level and
stable, and capable of supporting
the blender.
• If multiple units are being installed side-
by-side, allow at least 16 inches center
to center between units.
• Take proximity to customers, closeness to
ingredients, and sufficient workspace into
consideration when selecting a location.
Installing the Blender
1. Once a suitable location has been
selected, place the blender base on
the counter. DO NOT plug it in at
this time.
2. Install the Quiet Shield (if being used)
according to the instructions on page 7.
3. Check to make sure there is sufficient
clearance for the Quiet Shield to open
and close properly.
4. Plug the blender into a grounded three-
prong outlet equipped with a Ground
Fault Circuit Interruptor.
Converting the Blender for
In-Counter Installation
The above counter model Summit blender
can be adapted for in-counter installation.
Follow the instructions below to convert the
unit for in-counter installation.
1. Unplug the unit.
2. Remove the four screws attaching the
lower base housing to the upper base
housing.
3. Remove the lower base housing. DO
NOT remove the rubber sealing gasket!
4. Remove muffler.
5. Follow the instructions on page 6 for
proper in-counter installation.
IMPORTANT! NEVER operate the blender
as an above counter unit without the lower
base housing in place!
