operation
When operating the lifting device, always keep the four
supports in sight. If necessary, ask another person to
guide you.
To avoid danger for persons and the machine, before you lift a
container it is essential to ensure that
– the container has been released from the carrier vehicle.
– the rack supports have been mounted in their correct operat-
ing position.
– the control and power cables have been connected proerly.
– the lifting capacity has not been exceeded.
– at the end of the lifting process or if it is interrupted, the main
switch on the control box is always turned off.
After manually adjustment of the container and assembly of
power supply the electric drive is ready for use. In order to lift or
lower the container turn the main switch to 'ON'. The operator
must be positioned on the drive side of the container. You can
now complete the following functions by using the joystick:
At electric drive with operating voltage 24 V and 230 V
Joystick up
Joystick down
Joystick up left
Joystick down left

Joystick up right
At electric drive with operating voltage 400 V

To inform the operator about the different working conditions
there are three LED's on the control box with following functions:

At electric drive with operating voltage 24 V and 230 V
GREEN
Activation of the electric motors.
If the power consumption rises to over 55A per mo-
tor the LED will flash and the motor current will be
electronically limited (24V-version only).
ORANGE
At least one limit switch on the sup-ports has been
tripped.
RED
Excess temperature on the power sec-tion in the
control box. If the green LED is also lit, the drive has
suffered an overload.
At electric drive with operating voltage 400 V
GREEN
Activation of the electric motors.
ORANGE
At least one limit switch on the sup-ports has been
tripped.
RED
Excess temperature on the power section in the
control box.

additional remarks for operating
– If the gear motors do not start at low temperature, let them
work approx. 2 minutes without charge.
– Each gear motor is secured with a fuse. To protect the semi-
conductors these fuses must only be replaced with equivalent
types:
>> GOULD series aM for motor circuits with rated voltage
500V and 120 kA switch rating
> for 24 V-Version:
> for 230 V-Version:
> for 400 V-Version:
The fuses for the limit switches are also inside the control box,
they measure 5x20mm/1A.
'1'
– The controller houses a four-way-DIP switch by which the di-
rection of the motors can be changed if necessary. DIP1 turns
the roadside motor, DIP2 turns the curbside motor.
– All the components in the control box are designed for opera-
tion in temperatures as low as -30 °C. Nevertheless in low tem-
peratures before you start work with the controller you should
check that the joystick can be moved easily in all directions.
– There is an overload clutch mounted at every gear motor to
prevent the supports from damage. If the overload clutch is/
was in function the system can probably not be driven by the
electric drive. Dismount the gear motors and use the cranks
for manually adjustment of the container. Then mount the gear
motors and use electric drive again.
If a 230 V electric drive is used, inching operation to align
the container has to be suspended. To ensure this, it is
forbidden to run-up the motors in short sequence (max.
20 staring processes per hour).
