7. Operating
ATTENTION:
An automatic test for pumps operation is
made after 48 hours inactivity.
After 30 minutes of continuous work of a
pump, the pumps changeover takes
place and the inactive pump will start.
7.1. Operating
switches
See the connection diagram of the float
switches at paragraph 5.2.1.
Float switch G1, with a lower starting-up level,
starts up the first pump.
Float switch G2, with a higher starting-up level,
starts up the second pump.
If float switch G1 is faulty, float switch G2 starts
up both pumps (the starting-up of the second
pump is delayed by a few seconds).
Float switch G3, with a higher intervention level
than float switch G2, acts as a high-level alarm
and starts up both pumps if float switches G1
and G2 are faulty.
Activation of the 3 float switches function.
The control panel is set by the manufacturer for
the 3 float switch functioning. This setting, at the
moment of switching on, causes the switching
on of the FAILURE LED for approximately 1
second.
Proceed as follows, if the control panel is set to
operate with 4 float switches, whilst the 3 float
switches function is required:
- switch the power off by rotating the main
selector switch with the door-locking device,
- press the AUT-STOP pump 1 button and
keeping the button pressed, rotate the main
selector switch with the door-locking device
and switch on the current,
- wait until the FAILURE LED lights for
approximately 1 second and release the
button,
- the control panel is now set to function with 3
float switches.
7.2. Operating
switches
See the connection diagram of the float
switches at paragraph 5.2.2.
Float switch G1, with a lower starting-up level,

pump is delayed by a few seconds).
Float switch G3, with a lower intervention level
stops both pumps (the arrest of the second
pump is delayed by a few seconds).
Float switch G4, with a higher intervention level
than float switch G2, acts as a high-level alarm
and starts up both pumps if float switches G1
and G2 are faulty.
Activation of the 4 float switch function
The control panel is set by the manufacturer for
the 3 float switch functioning. This setting, at the
moment of switching on, causes the switching
on of the FAILURE LED for approximately 1
second.
Proceed as follows, if the control panel is set to
operate with 4 float switches:
- switch the power off by rotating the main
selector switch with the door-locking device.
- press the AUT-STOP pump 1 button and
keeping the button pressed, rotate the main
selector switch with the door-locking device
and switch on the current.
- wait until the FAILURE LED flashes 3 times
and then release the button.
- the control panel is now set to function with 4
float switches.
When the control panel is set to function with 4
float switches, at the moment of starting-up, the
FAILURE LED does not signal.
8. Motors
protectors
The motors can have:
- thermal protectors with cables to bring the
signals to the terminal block of the control
panel.
- a construction without thermal protectors.
The control panel must be set to signal the
intervention of the thermal protectors (see
paragraph 3.1.1.).
