Testing Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) Receptacle

Testing Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter
(GFCI) Receptacle
The GFCI outlets should be tested periodically to ensure
they are working properly (see Table 2).
Start the generator (see page 14).

DANGER
If the red RESET button does not pop out, do not

Transporting Generator

WARNING
Hot engine or exhaust system can cause serious
burns or fires. Cool generator completely before
transporting or storing.
When transporting the generator:
Press engine control switch to STOP position.
Turn fuel shut-off valve to OFF position.
Keep generator level to prevent fuel spillage.
Confirm handles are locked into position before
moving generator.
NOTICE
NEVER drop, strike, or place heavy objects on generator
when transporting.

Storing Generator

NOTICE
Follow service procedures for preparing generator for stor-
age. Inadequate or improper care of generator can result in
damage to generator components and will void limited war-
ranty.
Before storing generator for extended period of time:
Be sure storage area is free of excessive humidity
and dust.
Refer to Table 5 for recommended preparation proce-
dures.

To prepare generator for long-term storage:
DANGER
Fuel and its vapors are extremely flammable and
explosive under certain conditions.
• NEVER smoke or allow flames or sparks near genera-
tor or where gasoline is stored.

Drain fuel into suitable container (see page 26).
Change engine oil (see page 19).
