Snow/ice clean-out tool (Fig.22)
Warning! Never use your hands to clear a clogged chute assembly.
Shut off engine and remain behind handles until all moving parts have
stopped before unclogging.
The chute clean-out tool is conveniently fastened to the rear of the
auger housing with a mounting clip. Should snow and ice become
lodged in the chute assembly during operation, proceed as follows to
safely clean the chute assembly
1 Release both the Auger Control and the Drive Control.
2 Stop the engine by pulling the ignition key.
3 Remove the clean-out tool from the clip which secures it to the rear of
the auger housing.
4 Use the shovel-shaped end of the clean-out tool to dislodge and scoop
any snow and ice which has formed in and near the chute assembly.
5 Refasten the clean-out tool to the mounting clip on the rear of the
auger housing, reinsert the ignition key and start the snow thrower's
engine.
Wheel lock
The left wheel is mounted on the wheel shaft with the help of a locking
pin.The locking pin can be moved to two positions:
1. Inner position: two-wheel drive.
2. Outer position: one-wheel drive.Simplifies manoeuvring the machine
when turning.
-Used during lighter conditions
-When storing the machine
Replacing shear bolts (Fig. 23 )
The augers are secured to the spiral shaft with two shear bolts. If the
auger should strike a foreign object or ice jam, the snow thrower is
designed so that the bolts may shear. If the augers will not turn, check to
see if the bolts have sheared. If did, change it with shear bolts provided
by manufacturer, insert the shear bolts with bush from the big hole side
of auger shaft and tighten it.
Warning! Never replace the auger shear bolts with anything other than
an OEM part; otherwise, it will damage the gearbox and invalidate your
warranty.
Starting the engine
Warning! Before you service or start the engine, familiarize yourself
with the snow thrower. Be sure you understand the function and location
of all controls.
