Safety instructions

The multiple plug and socket
systems 7-pole (GHG 511 .7. /
GHG 592) and 21-pole (GHG 511 .9 /
GHG 591) are not suited for use
in Zone 0.
The operations must be carried out by
electrical suitably trained in hazardous
area with knowledge of increased safty
explosion protection
IEC 60079-14.
The temperature class and type of
protection stated on the apparatus shall be
observed.
To ensure adherence to the temperature
class stated on the type label of the
apparatus, the permissible ambient
temperature, the rated terminal cross
section and the self-heating of the
apparatus, that is mainly due to the power
dissipation, shall be taken into account
(test criterion for the self-heating is an
overload of 10%).
Modifications or changes to the plug and
socket systems are not permitted.
They shall be used for their intended
purpose and in a perfect and clean state.
Only original COOPER CROUSE-HINDS
parts may be used as replacements and
for repairs.
Repairs that affect the explosion
protection, may only be carried out by
COOPER CROUSE-HINDS or by a
qualified electrician in compliance with
the respective national regulations.
Prior to being put into operation, the
plug and socket systems shall be checked
in accordance with the instructions as per
section 6.
The sockets may only be used with the
associated COOPER CROUSE-HINDS
plugs in undamaged condition.
The 7-pole wall socket is safeguarded by
an interlocking switch and can, therefore,
not
be switched on if the plug is not inserted.
The plug of the 21-pole plug and socket
may not be inserted into the 21-pole
sockets and coupler or withdrawn from
them while they are live (see also Section 5).
Before initial operation, any foreign matter
shall be removed from the apparatus.
The national safety rules and regulations
for the prevention of accidents, as well as
the safety instructions included in these
operating instructions, that, like this text,
are set in italics, shall be observed!
