Symptom
The sound breaks off.

Symptom
Cannot operate functions using the
"Memory Stick Duo."
Cannot record on the "Memory Stick

The pictures are not played back in

Image data cannot be played back.
Pictures cannot be deleted.
Cause and/or Corrective Actions
cClean the head using the cleaning cassette (optional). (p. 103)
• There is a blank section in the beginning or middle of the tape. This is
not a malfunction. (p. 46)
• The tape you are playing was recorded without setting the date and time.
(p. 17, 43)
• A blank section on the tape is being played.
• The data code on a tape with a scratch or noise cannot be read.
• When you play back the transition between two recordings, the image on
the screen remains still for about 1 second. This is not a malfunction.
Cause and/or Corrective Actions
cSet the POWER switch to the CAMERA-MEM or PLAY/EDIT mode.

c Insert a "Memory Stick Duo" into your camcorder. (p. 18)
• You have inserted the "Memory Stick Duo" formatted on the computer.
cFormat the "Memory Stick Duo" on your camcorder. Beware that the
recorded data is completely erased.
cThe capacity is full. Delete unnecessary pictures recorded on the

cFormat the "Memory Stick Duo" on your camcorder or insert another
"Memory Stick Duo." (p. 57)

cDeactivate the USB Streaming function on your camcorder and set the
(USB) ON/OFF switch on the Handycam Station to OFF.
• Image data cannot be played back when you modify files or folders, or
edit the data on a computer (The file name flashes in that case). This is
