OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
the collection bag - reducing their volume and
preparing the leaves for composting.
• As a blower for the piling-up of dry leaves
or for blowing them away from inaccessible
locations.
To change the mode of operation for the unit,
move the selector switch located on the side
of the unit into the desired position. Position
(A) is for blower function and position (B) is for
vacuum function (see Fig 6).
During work, ensure that the device is not
struck against hard objects which can cause
damage to the unit. Do not suck up any solid
materials such as stones, thick branches,
cones or similar items since these can damage
the shredding mechanism. Repairs of this
type are not covered by the warranty.
Blower Mode:
Blower mode can be used to clean corners,
along fences, under objects etc. Be careful
how you point the jet of air as it could move
heavy items and cause damage or injury. In
blowing mode there is no need to connect the
leaf collection bag.
a) Set the blower/vacuum selector switch to
the blower position.
b) Turn on the power switch and point the jet
of air infront of you and slowly move forward to
gather leaves together.
d) Optimal results can be achieved by
maintaining a distance of 2 to 4 inches
between the blower nozzle and the ground.
Vacuum Mode:
A
a) Set the blower/vacuum selector switch to
the vacuum position.
b) Connect the 40L leaf collection bag, making
sure the bag is properly connected and that
the zipper on the bag is closed.
c) Turn the machine on and hold the intake
16
tube several inches above the leaves that are
to be collected.
d) The leaves will be sucked-up into the tube
and chopped up and collected in the collection
bag.
If the device stops suddenly during vacuum
mode or does not produce suction, switch the
unit off immediately and disconnect it from the
power source. Carry out work as described in
the chapter "Cleaning and Maintenance".
Emptying the Collection Bag
When the collection bag is full, the vacuum
power will be greatly reduced. Empty
collection bag regularly to prevent them
from becoming over-full and reducing the
suctioning power of the unit. When emptying
the collection bag, turn off the unit and
disconnect it from the power source, waiting
until the impeller comes to a complete stop.
Detach either the 40L bag or the hose that is
connected to the cart from the blower/vacuum
unit depending on which collection system is
being used. Open the zipper on the collection
bag to allow the mulched leaves to fall out.
