Notes
A plancha uses a Spanish cooking method that consists of grilling foods on an iron, aluminum
or stainless steel plate.
This cooking method originated in the 19th century when it was used by pilgrims. During the
festivals that accompanied pilgrimages, large plates were laid on the glowing embers of fires.
This method made it possible to cook all sorts of foods in very large quantities.
Over time, the plancha was gradually improved and fine-tuned to become an everyday
appliance. Widely used in restaurants and tapas bars, plancha grills are now particularly
popular for cooking a variety of healthy, tasty dishes. One of the great advantages of this
cooking method is that it preserves the flavors of the foods cooked. In addition, in contrast
with barbecues, there is no risk of foods burning on the plate. Simply heat the appliance for 10
minutes before cooking foods.
Cooking on a plancha grill is fast, healthy and varied.
Its high heat means that foods can be seared and grilled, keeping the meat, juices and flavors
intact.
Plancha grills are a natural choice for outdoor cooking thanks to their fun, convivial aspect.
They can also be used indoors under an extractor hood.
They are very easy to use, do not demand any particular skills and require just a few cooking
utensils, such as tongs and wide spatulas for turning foods over.
Installations
Work surface
Choose an easy-to-clean work surface on which to install the appliance. The appliance must be
at least 20 cm from any vertical surfaces that are not heat-resistant in order to prevent damage
by heat radiating from the plates. To ensure maximum ease of use, the top of the irons should
be between 85 and 95 cm from the ground.
 Place the machine on a flat, firm surface. Do not place on anything that it sensitive to heat.
 Select the temperature according to the type of food to be cooked (see section on cooking).
 Preheat the plancha at the chosen temperature for 10 minutes.
 Place the food on the plate and cook to taste.
Place the appliance 20 cm away from any wall or any element sensitive to heat.
Use the button to adjust the temperature.
Unwind and connect the cable securely: firstly to the socket of the appliance and then to the
mains socket. The indicator light will then go on.
The light goes off when the appliance is ready to use.
