Instructions for use
TAS® (Toe Alignment Splint) | Toe Alignment Splint
Important notes: If there is a serious deterioration in your state of health
as a result of using the medical device, please report this to your specialist
dealer or the manufacturer as soon as possible. If you report this to the specialist
dealer, the dealer will forward this immediately. The reports are agreed with and
processed by the competent authorities. Please always follow these instructions for
use. In case of adverse effects (e.g. skin swelling, pressure points, disorders of blood
circulation etc.) please tell your doctor. Function and optimum protection are no longer
guaranteed if the product is handled incorrectly. This aid assists recovery and should
be used exclusively under the instruction of and in consultation with your doctor or a
healthcare professional. DARCO (Europe) GmbH does not assume any responsibility.
Do not wear the product in direct contact with injured, irritated, damaged or broken
skin. This device is not recommended for direct skin contact. You should use bandages,
for example. While wearing this aid, ensure sufficient forefoot clearance and avoid all
kinds of outside mechanical influences. This aid is allowed for single-patient use only.
It does not need to be cleaned or reprocessed between uses.
Purpose
The bandage is for post-operative use to maintain the surgical result.

Design features
The TAS® Toe Alignment Splint is a postoperative bandage for alignment that is used
instead of taping. It enables positioning and alignment of toes in the correct position
after surgery / correction, which has a decisive impact on the surgical result. A strap at
the back of the foot reduces slippage of the midfoot bandage. The soft material makes
it comfortable to wear.

Working life / Lifespan of the product
The lifespan of the medical device is determined by natural wear and tear due to prop-
er handling / cleaning. The medical device is designed to be used for the usual duration
of use prescribed by a doctor without showing a reduction in safety or performance.
After the period of use prescribed by your doctor, check the function of the product
together with your doctor or specialist dealer.

Contraindications
No contraindications are known.
Tailor's bunion (fig. 4 – 5):
The small toe loops are fixed to the metatarsal
band according to need using the hook and
loop strap (fig. 4 – 5).
Hallux valgus (fig. 6 – 9):
The big toe loop is fixed as shown in fig. 6 – 7.
The stabilising element can be inserted into the
big toe loop (fig. 8 – 9).
