1. Immediately after the placement it is essential to apply a 2nd coloured layer of wood
protection, at least on the outside. Only to be carried out on DRY wood. Not properly
treated wood becomes gray and increases the risk of warpage. Colourless provides
insufficient UV protection. Pay attention because a layer applied too thick can block the
natural expansion and crimping. Ask the advice of your specialist and follow the product
instructions. Take good care, a regular maintenance prolongs the life of your cabin.
2. Always anchor your garden house to the ground. After the assembly it is best that
you finish the joint between the log cabin and foundation with silicone, if there is no
building foil used. A concrete slap according to the specified dimensions, prevents water
infiltration.
3. Wood 'lives'! In dry weather a crack can appear which in humid weather can again
disappear. Do not place heavy objects against the walls. It may be necessary to adjust
the doors.
4. If your log cabin is finished with roofing, you definitely need to provide a roof covering.
The roof beams are not equipped for roof tiles, plastic or metal roof tiles or shingles is
possible. You do not need to remove the initial roofing for this. Keep the roof free of
snow.
5. Moisture stains or mildew on the inside is usually
due to too damp humidity or too little air circulation.
Ensure adequate ventilation, possibly by placing 2
air vents (not supplied). A leak should be repaired as
soon as possible in order to avoid worsening.
6. Keep windows and doors closed during your
absence, to prevent damage.
