Step 8: Cementing the PVC Conduit to the
Inside Power Panel
1. Holding the inside power panel in your hand, fish its
attached wires through the PVC conduit again.
2. Apply a thin coat of PVC cement to the end surface of the
PVC conduit as well as inside the back collar of the inside
power panel.
3. Push together and hold tightly for about 10 seconds.
4. Then fish the PVC conduit and the wires back through the
wall leaving the wires sticking out of the exterior wall.
Step 9: Mount the Inside Power Panel
1. Position the inside power panel on the wall with its four
holes aligned with the four wall anchors.
2. Using the (4) white-head 2 ¼" power panel mounting
screws, use a flat tip screwdriver to tighten the inside power
panel to the inside wall until it is snug.
Step 10: Attaching the PVC Conduit Fitting to
the Power Inlet Box
1. Remove the cover from the outdoor power inlet box by
unscrewing the two screws on the front of the box with a #2
Phillips screwdriver.
2. Temporarily slide out the wiring tray.
3. Locate the circular ½" pre-cut knockout hole on the upper
right back of the power inlet box and push it outward until it
pops out.
4. Fit the knockout washer supplied in a separate bag inside
the power inlet box into the knockout hole.
5. Unscrew the tightening ring from the PVC conduit fitting
leaving the insulating ring on the fitting.
6. From the back of the power inlet box, push the exposed
threaded end of the conduit fitting through the knockout hole.
7. Screw the tightening ring onto the conduit fitting from the
inside of the power inlet box and tighten
8. Tighten down the tightening ring with pliers.
Step 11: Attaching the Power Inlet Box to the
PVC Conduit
1. Depending on how the power inlet box fits against your
outside wall, fit one or two foam weather insulating rings
over the conduit fitting on the back of the power inlet box.
When the outdoor power inlet box is pressed up against the
outside wall, the foam insulating rings should compress to
form a tight seal.
2. Fish the wires through the knockout hole in the back of the
power inlet box.
3. Apply a small amount of PVC cement to the outside surface
of the PVC conduit sticking out of the outside surface of the
wall as well as to the inside of the conduit fitting.
