Congratulations on your purchase of the Reliance Controls Through-the-Wall Kit for
Portable Generators! Reliance has been manufacturing high-quality electrical equipment for
over 100 years in Racine, Wisconsin. Your generator power panel kit is cULus listed and meets
all requirements of the National Electrical Code.
During a power outage, this Through-the-Wall Kit will enable you to keep your portable
generator plugged in safely OUTSIDE- where it should be- behind closed doors and windows,
to help keep its dangerous, toxic CO exhaust out of your home. Always aim portable generator
exhaust away from a house.
This kit moves the 15 Amp outlets on your portable generator (plus a few more) to the inside
your house, where your lights, TVs, refrigerator, microwave, computers, sump pump and more
can be powered with clean, dry extension cords. The Generator Power Panel even lights up
the area around it when the generator is plugged in, so you can see what you are doing if your
home is dark.
Please note that you will need to buy a 30 Amp 120/240VAC L14-30 generator cord to match
the locking power inlet on the outside Power Inlet Box. If your generator has a L5-30 outlet
that looks like this
The Through-the-Wall Kit is easy to install by following the step by step instructions in this
booklet. You also can also go to the RelianceControls.com website and watch a video of each
step in the installation. We recommend that you read through these step by step instructions
and watch the installation video before you begin.
Call Reliance Controls Customer Service at (800) 634-6155 for skilled advice on the set up
of this kit.
Do not return to your place of purchase.
IMPORTANT: ONLY PLUG IN ONE APPLIANCE PER RECEPTACLE.
DO NOT USE MULTI-OUTLET EXTENSION CORDS TO PLUG IN
ADDITIONAL ITEMS. MAKE SURE THAT EXTENSION CORDS ARE RATED
FOR THE TOTAL AMPS USED BY THE ITEM PLUGGED INTO THEM
