MANUAL
3.INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
3.1 Safety instructions

Only qualified people should work on this device or in its neighbourhood.
In order to avoid electric shocks, This power should not be accessible during normal
operation. The product is designed to be installed in a location with restricted access
(electrical equipment box or in a closed box...) with a background in non-combustible
material.

Before installation or maintenance, the main circuit breaker should be open and condemned
to forbid its inopportune closing.

A line circuit breaker, curve C, 1 A, according to the EN60947, must be included in the
electrical disconnect device as in the immediate vicinity of the device and must be easily
accessible by the operator.
The common mode voltage between Earth and output terminals shall not exceed 50Vac.
Equipment connected to this unit must conform to their standard product.
For a natural and correct cooling, the instrument must be installed vertically and all
openings must be widely cleared.
3-2 Mounting
The connection of supply lines and output should be possible after fixation.
Before any connections, check that any hazardous voltage is not in your wires. The non-observance
Voltage fine
of the safety instructions can have as a consequence a contact with dangerous parts under voltage
adjustment
and can lead to death or serious wounds.
Respect the connections on the main and on the output indicated on screenprint.
12V Indicator :
The input/output terminals are spring system. Switch levers backward to open the cages, engage the
12 V Battery
charger position
wires and bring back levers forward to lock. After connecting all the wires, engage the terminals covers
into the slots of the case to protect it.
24V Indicator :
Mounting by CLIP on the profiled 35x15mm or 35x7,5mm (DIN rail EN 50022) :
24V battery
- Engage the hooks on the top of the rail and push the power supply against the rail in order to lock
charger position
the hook (push it back if necessary).
To take it off, introduce a screwdriver into the part of the hook located under the power supply and
DIN rail clips
push it toward the bottom and take it off, rocking it toward the top.
Wall mounting :
Fig. 3
- Change the clip position DIN rail by pushing down, for this, lift the two pins with a
to change the housing.(fig 3)
- Push strongly the mounting clip to lock it in a high position (fig 4)
- Fix the power supply with two screws of Ø4mm in the clip holes. (fig 5)
3-3-1 Standard operation
The ALE2902M is delivered adjusted at 6 V ±5%.
Choose the output voltage thanks to the selector and the fine voltage adjustment.
After having plugged the wires of the load in the outputs "+" and "-", thus the main in the inputs "N"
Volts
30
and "L", close the circuit breaker, the power supply starts immediately. the green LED lights up, the
29
28
voltage is on the output.
Fig. 1
26
Before start, if you have to adjust excatly voltage, connect a voltmeter on the outputs instead of the
24
load then adjust wanted voltage with the adjustment and open the circuit breaker in order to
22
disconnect the voltmeter and connect the load.

3-3-2 Operation with teleregulation
16
The use of weak section or important length wire leads to a degradation of the characteristics. Three
14
meters of 1 mm² wire (the distance is 1.5 M between use and power supply) with a 2 amps current
12
make the voltage fall to approximately 100 mV.
10
To compensate for waste in wires and keep an excellent voltage regulation in load terminals, connect
8
the two additional wires "+sense" and "-sense" respectively at the "+" and "-" of the load. The two
6
5
4
teleregulation wires will be of a 0.4mm² section at least and must be very closed (wire of 2 leads or
2
better twisted leads). Teleregulation accepts a voltage fall until 1.5 Volts in the"-" wire, as well as the
Ampères
"+"wire (so be it a total of 3 volts).

3-5 Lead-acid battery charger 12V or 24V
Compared to the output current of the ALE2902M, for a time of charge of 14 hours, the nominal capacity
of the free electrolyte battery is of 35 Ah for 12 V and 20 Ah for 24 V.
For sealed lead-acid batteries, manufacturer recommend not to exceed a load current equal to one third
of the nominal current. This is why we recommend not to go under the following capacities : 10 Ah for a
12 V battery and 7 Ah for a 24 V battery.
In any cases, see the instructions manual of the battery's manufacturer.
Before connecting a battery, the power supply must be adjusted, proceeding like this :
Connect the power supply on main (230V) and close the circuit breaker. Green LED lights up.
- 12V Battery : Place the voltage selector on 14V.
Turn the adjustment in order to light up the yellow LED 12V (voltage range : 13,2 to 14,1V).
- 24V Battery : Place the voltage selector on 28V.
Turn the adjustment in order to light up the yellow LED 24V (voltage range : 26,4 to 28,2V).
Connect the battery respecting the polarity. If red LED lights up, the battery is connected upside down. In
this case, replace the fuse F1 (5x20 F5A) after openning the circuit breaker and disconnect the battery. After
replace, close the circuit breaker ( the green and yellow LEDS are lighted, the red LED is off), then plug the
battery respecting the polarity.
At the beginning of load, if the battery is completely discharged, the yellow LED switch off because the power
supply is put in current limitation. Progressively, the voltage is going to increase and the LED is going to
enlighten. The power supply works in voltage regulation.
3-6 Power supply uninterruptible switch mode with battery
Do the same as in 3-5.If desired voltage is precise, adjuste it with a voltmeter.
Connect the load on the unit power supply-battery.
In this configuration, the power is not totally available for the load because the current supplied by the
ALE2902M is shared between the battery and the load. When there is an interruption of the main, the battery
takes over. In this case, the green LED is switched off and the yellow LED (12 or 24V) is lighted up.
The intensity of the light of the yellow LED decreases as the battery discharges.
4. OPERATION
ALE2902M is a stabilized, protected and adjustable power supply from 5 to 29 V.
The green LED "ON" enlightened indicates a voltage output presence.
The red LED "STATUS" enlightened indicates one of two following faults :
- The output fuse F1 (5x20 F5A) is off, no output voltage.
- The internal temperature of the power supply is too large and temperature protection is activated, the
Screw Ø4
output voltage drops.
The power supply returned to normal operation when the internal temperature will be within the specified
range.

5. MAINTENANCE
No particular maintenance is required for this instrument.
Avoid dust, moisture and shocks.
If the green indicator does not light up when switching on, check :
- The mains voltage
- The connection to mains.
- The output fuse «F1» 5x20 F5A if red LED is lighted up.
6. AFTER SALES SERVICE
