5.3.5
Moving the Strap Adjuster Towards the Front of the Pole: To move the Strap Adjuster forward or loosen the device around the pole, with
weight off of the device, pull the Strap Adjuster Thumb Release back, allowing the handles to slide to the desired position. See Figure 8.
5.3.6
Cleat Performance: The articulating design and forward placement of the cleats on the FallTech WPFRD increases stopping performance
and reduces snags. The cleats are designed to engage the pole only in the event of a fall. When the device is impacted, the cleats angle
downward and embed themselves into the pole, arresting the fall. See Figure 9 and 10 below for a visual representation of horizontal
(Figure 9) versus vertical (Figure 10) engagement of the cleats.

5.3.7
Proper Device Adjustment: Adjust the device so that the cleats are in contact with the wood on both side of the pole. See Figures 11 and
12. As the diameter of the pole changes during climbing, the cleats may need to be readjusted to maintain contact with the pole. So long
as both cleats are in contact with the wood pole, the inner rope is not required to contact the wood pole as shown in Figure 13.
