HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE FM SYNTHESIZER-
TUNER
The tuner consists of two boards connected to each other by means of two flat
cables.
-A P4500D board for digital control and display. This print is mounted vertically
behind the front panel, so that the LEDs and displays are visible.
-A P4500D board intended for the tuner itself and for the supply unit.
VERY IMPORTANT
- MOUNT ALL COMPONENTS AGAINST THE BOARD
- USE A SMALL SOLDERING IRON OF MAX. 40 W
- USE THIN (1 mm) TIN SOLDER
- CARELESS SOLDERING ALWAYS CAUSES PROBLEMS
Follow the assembly of the parts as indicated in the partslist; components
marked with ( ! ) should be given special attention during the assembly
description.
A) Assembly of components from the P4500D display plate
1- Jumpers.
2- Coil (looks like a resistor but packaged separately).
3- Resistors.
4- Crystal. Don't forget to attach the crystal by means of a jumper, since the
jumper also serves as an interconnector!
5- Smal signal diodes. Watch the polarity!
6- Zener diode. Watch the polarity!
7- Condensors.
8- Electrolytic condensors. Watch the polarity!
9- IC supports. Two IC supports are juxtaposed for the attachments, a 40-pin
support and a 24-pin support.
10- Small signal transistors.
11- Mount the displays on the supports. See that they are positioned correctly.
The exact position is indicated by the numbers of the connnections on the
print. There must some space between DY1 and DY2, while DY2 and DY3
should be right next to each other.
12- Mount the LEDs. LD1 to LD8, green diodes; LD9 and LD10, red diodes;
LD11 and LD12: yellow diodes; LD13, red diodes (on the other side of the
print). Mount the LEDs so that the front is at the same height as the
displays! Take care that they are mounted vertically and are perpendicular
to the plate. Watch the polarity!
13- Mount the board pins.
