Intended use
1.1
General
The Pfannenberg roof-mounted air/water heat exchangers of the PWT series are stationary units that dissipate
heat from closed switch cabinets. The PWT air/water heat exchangers are mounted on the switch cabinet roof.
The air/water heat exchangers have different cooling capacities. For more detailed performance data, see
 The PWT air/water heat exchangers are cut-out compatible with DTT cooling units.
All Pfannenberg air/water heat exchangers are RoHS compliant and free from:
Silicone compounds
PCT, asbestos, formaldehyde, cadmium
Substances that interfere with wetting
1.2
Permissible usage conditions
The permissible ambient air temperature of the PWT air/water heat exchangers is +1°C (+34°F) to +70°C
(+158°F).
The permissible storage temperature of the PWT air/water heat exchangers must not exceed +70 °C (+158°F).
1.3
Duty of the operator
The operator must ensure that the air/water heat exchangers are only used for their intended purpose and that all
hazards pertaining to the life and health of users or third parties are avoided. The accident prevention guidelines
and safety regulations must also be observed. Fault signals from the units must trigger an immediate response.
The operator must ensure that all users have read and understood this operating manual.
Non-compliance with this operating manual will void the warranty. The same applies if improper work has been
carried out on the unit by the customer and/or third parties without the consent of the manufacturer.

Description of use
WARNING
Danger due to unauthorized use of the units
Improper use of the units may lead to serious accidents.
➢ Only use air/water heat exchangers in stationary operation.
The Pfannenberg PWT series air/water heat exchangers are designed for cooling the air inside switch cabinets and
for dissipating heat from switch cabinets. Sensitive components in the switch cabinet are protected. Condensate
produced during cooling is discharged through a hose.
 The PWT air/water heat exchangers are only approved for stationary operation.
As air/water heat exchangers of the IP 55 protection class, the air/water heat exchangers are protected against
dust to a large extent. Limitation: Dust can still penetrate in case of permanent exposure.
The air/water heat exchangers withstand splash water and water jets in accordance with IP X5.
