1 .02 Intended purpose
The sling is intended for lifting or supporting a person or body
parts of a person.
1 .03 Area of use
The sling is suited for use in hospitals and in nursing homes.
1 .04 Conditions of use
The sling is designed for use with a horizontal lifting support in
combination with both mobile lifters and ceiling hoist systems. It
may be used only for a horizontal relocation of a person lying on a
level, horizontal, or angled surface as for instance a bed, stretcher
or floor.
The sling is used for horizontal relocation procedures involving
people with reduced mobility.
The use of the sling is subject to the following:
• The sling is used by trained staff or persons who have been
instructed in the use of the sling in question.
• The maximum lifting capacity of 375 kg must never be ex-
ceeded.
• The sling is to be used for horizontal relocation procedures in-
volving patients lying on a level, horizontal or angled surface.
• The helper pays attention to the well-being of the user when
using the sling.
• The sling must be used with a Guldmann horizontal lifting
support.
• Fasten all 8 straps of the sling to the horizontal lifting support.
* A horizontal relocation is defined as a relocation procedure in-
volving a patient lying on a horizontal surface where the individu-
al's horizontal position is maintained during an upright, horizontal
or combined movement. The surface on which the patient is lying
can be completely level or at an angle that fits the given situation.
1 .05 Important/Precautions
• Read the instructions carefully before using the sling.
• The sling's maximum load must never be exceeded.
• The sling may only be used to move a patient who is in a
horizontal or angled position in conjunction with a horizontal
lifting support.
• Before a sling is used, it must be examined according to point
2.02.
• Possible repairs must only be made by the manufacturer.
• Any serious incident that occurred in relation to this device
should be reported to the manufacturer and the local compe-
tent authority.
