3. Mounting and connection

Recommended order for mounting the electric motor (see also the illustrated instructions part).
Only a professional electrician may install, connect and commission your electric motor.
The electrician must be fully aware of all specific features of your local electric network.
Please, keep this Operation Manual throughout the entire life of the product.
The instructions provided in this Operation Manual should be qualified as basic sample guidance
since mounting spots and your installation kit may vary. The installer is fully responsible for finding
the most appropriate mounting solution.
Make sure the roller shutter is in working condition, and is suitable for automatisation with
selected electric motor. Check whether the curtain of your roller shutter moves smoothly along the
guide rails.
Mounting spot must be easily accessible. Before you start the installation, clean up your working
zone, remove all unnecessary tools (such as cables, wires, cords, etc.) and switch off all electric
devices not required in the process of installation.
When choosing the length of fasteners (such as screws, rivets, etc.), ensure no contact between
such elements and the body of the electric drive. The fasteners should not obstruct the mounting,
and manual emergency controller must be easily accessible at all times.
Ensure full visibility of your shutter system from the location of shutter control unit. The controller
has to be mounted within safe distance from moving parts of the shutter and has to be placed at
least 1.5 m above the ground.
ATTENTION! Your electrical network must be grounded for safety reasons. Do
not install your tubular motor if your section of electrical network is not
equipped with protective devices that fully comply with local laws. The distance
between terminals inside electric control switchers must amount at least 3mm.
If the tubular motor will be installed on the external side of the building, you must wire all electric
cables inside special shutter boxes for safety reasons.
ATTENTION! Do not connect numerous tubular motors into single-channel
electric switch. Do not connect a few switches with single tubular motor. The
control switcher must block any simultaneous movement of corresponding roll
tube in two opposite directions.
ATTENTION! Shutdown tools must be integrated into standard wiring system to
guarantee safe mounting and usage of your tubular motor.
Damaged power cables may cause fatal injuries. Only the producer, service provider or another
qualified specialist are authorised to replace such cables.
The power cable must remain downward directed after the mounting, or can be fixed as a
downward directed loop to keep condensation (water) away from your tubular motor.
ATTENTION! Do not hammer your tubular motor into the roll tube. Do not drill or
screw into the roll tube along the whole surface of the tubular motor.
Select correct length of fasteners (such as screws, rivets, etc.) to prevent any
contact between such elements and your tubular motor. The fasteners should not
obstruct the mounting of the motor, and manual emergency lifting mechanism
must be easily accessible at all times.
For security reasons, we urge you to follow all instructions provided in this Operation Manual.
Incorrect mounting may cause critical injuries to humans and animals and cause harm to property.
Unauthorised modification of all tubular motors and relevant electronic devices as well as improper
use of any of these products are strictly prohibited.
