3.4 Installation
Sensors and actuators can be connected to the analogue
I/O modules depending on the sub-base used.
Please note
When connecting the sensors and actuators, note
the instructions in the manual "CPX analogue I/O
modules."
Use only screened cables for transmitting analogue
signals.
Caution
Long signal cables reduce the immunity to interference.
Do not exceed the maximum permitted I/O signal cable
length of 30 m.
Screening/shield
The following variants are permitted for connecting the
cable screening:
– Screening connection on the FE pin of the I/O plug
without connection to further potentials
– External FE connection without connection to the FE
pin of the I/O plug
Recommendation:
Connect the cable screening to both sides of the FE with
sufficient potential equalization. If the cable screening is
connected only to one side of the FE, it should be con-
nected to the "signal receiver side."
