FINGER AND WRIST SPLINT

If you have any doubts regarding the
applications and use of this medical
device, do not hesitate to ask your
doctor and / or fitter, pharmacist,
orthotist, or orthopedic consultant for
advice.
INDICATIONS
Trauma to the long fingers that may
benefit from immobilization, such as:
• Sprains.
• Strains.
• Dislocation.
• Stable fractures.
PERFORMANCE
The brace shall provide immobilization
of the long fingers.
The brace shall provide effective
treatment for long finger injuries.
CONTRAINDICATION
None known.
WARNINGS • PRECAUTIONS OF USE
The brace should not be used in cases
where the injury requires absolute
immobilization or surgical procedure.
The brace should be fitted by a
healthcare professional.
When adjusting the strap, tighten it so
that it is firm but comfortable.
Do not wear for extended periods
without medical follow-up.
The orthosis must not be used in direct
contact with a damaged skin.
The orthosis is a single patient use
device. Do not use for multiple
patients.
If any problems occur with the use of
the orthosis, e.g. pain or appearance
of local signs, remove the orthosis and
contact your healthcare professional.
The user and/or patient must
report any serious incident that has
occurred in relation to the device to
the manufacturer and the competent
authority of the Member State in which
the user and/or patient is established.
MEASUREMENT AND SIZE CHART
Size of the orthosis to choose according to the length of the hand, measured
between the wrist and the end of the injured finger (in cm).
FEATURES OF THE DEVICE
Adaptable splint according to medical
recommendation.
Possible positioning in dorsal or
palmar depending on the location of
the trauma.

SET UP AND OPERATION
The first application should be
carried out by a qualified healthcare
professional to understand the correct
fitting and how to put the device on
properly. Subsequently, the product
should be put on the patient in the
same way by the user or a family
member or a friend.
Depending on the injury and medical
advice, the splint may be fitted in the
palm position (1) or back-of-the-hand
position (2-3).
Immobilization position:
In the absence of medical advice to the
contrary, immobilization should be in
the protective position (immobilization
in the intrinsic plus position) to prevent
stiffening (4):
• Metacarpophalangeal joint (MCP):
60° - 70°.
• Proximal interphalangeal joint (PIP):
10° - 20°.
• Distal interphalangeal joint (DIP):
extension position.
CARE INSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE
AND DISPOSAL
Keep the orthosis away from sources
of excessive heat.
Hand wash in warm soapy water
(maximum 40 ° C), rinse thoroughly.
Wring out gently; do not bleach; dry
flat, away from a source of excessive
heat (ex: radiators), do not tumble dry;
do not iron; do not dry clean.
The device and packaging must
be disposed of in accordance
with respective local or national
environmental regulations.
