In application of the directive and according to the requirements of EU regulation
no. 814/2013 of 02 August 2013, the technical parameters of storage tanks with a volume
less than or equal to 2,000 litres are available in appendix B (see page 57).

2. DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIMARY WATER TANK

The primary water tank reservoirs are used in the primary supply of units for the instant
production of domestic hot water, coupled with one or more boilers. This solution is specifi cally
designed to avoid the spreading of legionellosis in a vulnerable site (a hospital, for example).
With instant production of domestic hot water, to avoid burdening the boiler's burner with
a large number of on/off cycles and to ensure that the boiler room performs well, a buffer
supply of domestic water must be created at the opening to the plate exchanger.
Instant production of hot water requires that the rated capacity of the plate exchanger for the
boiler(s) be known at all times and that the primary temperature be equal to or greater than
the primary calculated temperature of the plate exchanger.
The primary water tanks help support peak DWH consumption and can also be used as
backup during energy recovery.
The primary water tanks are steel reservoirs with no interior protection against corrosion.
The water circuit must be a closed circuit with pH-control.
The domestic water tanks have external rust protection.
Thermal insulation of the primary water tanks is made either:
- for the M0 version, a rigid grey sheet-metal casing over 100 mm of glass wool,
- for the M1 version, a fl exible insulating casing consisting of 100 mm of glass wool covered
with a fl exible PVC envelope (non-fl ammable),
- for the TOP NC version (not classifi ed), a fl exible insulating casing consisting of 100 mm
of foam covered with a fl exible PVC envelope.
Maximum water temperature in use: 95°C
Service pressure: 4 bar
Electric immersion and/or steatite heating elements can be added to the CORFLEX
PRIMAIRE (see section 6: electric elements).
